wonderful update

Hi everyone I just called my pharmacy, and my patches and oxycodone are waiting to be picked up. Jerome is going to pick them up. I can't wait to get that patch on, and decrease this pain. It's raining here, and I'm hurting like crazy. I just wanted to let you all know. Take care all.

Same here, glad to hear you finally are getting your meds. I don't know what I would do if that happened to me (i am also on the patch at 75mcg/hour every 48 hours). I had a slight W/D from my earlier days when I started the patches and they would not stay on, so I ended up being a few days short and the beginning of the W/Ds from that was intense, but thankfully they did not last long. I could not imagine having to wait as long as you had to.

Thank you I see her every three to four months, but Thursday, I am going to tell her that I want to come in every month to get my pain med scripts. She may not like it, but i don't care. She doesn't know what chronic pain is like.

I sure am thankful for my family here. I don't know what I would have done without you all. You all know just what to say to help me.

Hey Loretta -

Very glad you got your scripts.... and hope they kick in right away and start giving you some relief.

I just really, really want to encourage you to be strong.... polite, but assertive... etc. on Thursday. I'm afraid, because you are such a nice person - that you won't speak up to this doctor! (You know I mean that w/ only good intentions!!).....

You need to really let her know how this has impacted your life.... that you need to come in monthly to get your scripts. There is no reason for her to not agree to this. Whether or not she understands chronic pain - she has the obligations, if you are her patient and if she has you on narcotics - to properly get those you in a manner that doesn't leave you going cold turkey off the meds because of their mistakes.

(Sorry! You know how I get though, lol).

If things don't go well - you need to start calling those doctors that the members (SB, Vickie, etc) found for you. If I read it right -- I think at least a couple of them definitely took medicaid.

Hopefully, though, things will go smoothly on Thursday. I'm assuming, too, that you will have to make arrangement for monthly transportation - have you been able to do that?

I have a PM appt on Thursday too..... update when you get home, if you get a chance.... and remember that we all care about you and are rooting for you to get this figured out.

Tina I will definitely be speaking up. I'm totally disgusted with how long it took to get my meds. She will definitely hear how I suffered all that time. When I get this mad, you can bet I stand up for myself. You can ask Jerome. lol
