Monday "Check In"

Good Morning Everyone,

Thanks for starting the thread Tina. Hope you had a good weekend.

We had a four-day long weekend starting from Thursday. Both Thursday and Friday were public holidays here. I spent most of it watching movies, went grocery shopping, Physiotherapy on Saturday morning and the rest of it at home catching up on the laundry and on my bed.
I've noticed that after physio on Saturday, I starting experiencing a strange hip pain whenever I stand. It's not constant so hoping it will go away soon.

No major plans for the upcoming week ahead. I've got a full work week.

My weekend was mixed - I went shopping with mum and dad on Saturday and found that my much-loved local art & craft shop had a big stocktake sale on. Some extra watercolour tubes, new pastels, marbling ink, card materials and a pile of felt later... ;-)

I also got my craft business officially registered yesterday, so that is a real momentous occasion for me.

The bad - I am having real trouble with my bladder on top of my other issues. I have an appointment with a urologist in a few weeks because my GP suspects that I may have interstitial cystitis +/- a neurogenic bladder. I also had some real down moments when I looked at all the new specialist appointments I have in the next few weeks- physiologist, dermatologist, urologist, rheumatologist...plus PM and autonomic dr, GP, physio and so on.

Thanks UA. I'm on a cancellation list but so far it's the earliest appointment they could give me. Sure hope something comes up sooner though - it's darn painful and at its worst I'm peeing every 10 mins or so. The other night was so bad I actually took my pillow and blanket to the bathroom because it was easier to rest there than it was to get up and down each time I needed to go :(

Hey Matt glad to see you post. I've been wondering how you were doing. Sounds like a lot has been happening, will look for your update.

UA I hope the hip pain goes away and it's nothing serious, maybe it just was irratated from the physiotherapy. Hope you feel better soon.

Care glad to hear the 1/2 days have helped you so much. Bummer on the poison something though. Hopefully, the steroids clears your skin up quick.

Laura so sorry to hear that you are having serious bladder issues and pain. I know IC isn't any fun to have and I hope you don't have the condition, but I hope they figure out why you are having the troubles. As for the Dr appointments sweetie I totally can relate, I look at my calendar and it depresses me daily. Hang in there, you're in my prayers.

Tina oh boy insomina and twins do not mix well I'm sure. I hope you were able to get at least a nap. Hope you are totally over the virus, and I hope that your PM appointment goes well.

Well as for me, I'm in a ton of pain with my feet and I've broken two more ribs. Overall, I just feel poorly. Have a very busy week, so far I've taken my car into the shop for repairs from the car accident. I went to see the dermatologist who has been following my wart issues.

I have two Dr appointments tomorrow, one Dr appointment and need to do my pre-op appointment on Wednesday. I see the dentist on Thursday, then have to drop off a donation to my friends parish. The ladies there are sewing cloths for the kids in Moore, OK on Saturday for 12 straight hours. I dont know how o sew, so a donation will have to do. Friday I hope to rest as Saturday is my 28th wedding anniversary, not sure what hubby has planned. Then finally we see our girl off to NYC to go and work for the summer.

Sure hope I manage to make it thru the week. Will do a post later on my update on my warts and up coming surgery on the 17th of June.

Had a good weekend, it was wet and rainy and some bad thunderstorms, but that is getting to be a regular thing around here any more. Today I had cataract surgery done on my right eye, had my left eye done two weeks ago. Everything went so well that my surgeon wanted to go ahead and do the other eye before the time on my physical ran out and I would have to get another complete physical before I could have the surgery done again.  She does them on Mondays, so I had her finish up and do the right eye this morning! I have a follow-up appointment this Wednesday. Every thing went really well, just like last time! My eye is a little scratchy and it is really dilated of course, and I have to wear these big bulky sun glasses for a couple of weeks and put antibiotic and steroid drops in my eyes for several weeks. But over all it has really made a big difference, everything I much brighter now and white is actually white for a change not dingy yellow, because of the cloudy yellow cataracts I had!

I really don't know where the weekend went! We were distracted with the news of the St Charles tornado.

On a different note, I pulled a tick off of my neck, and the little feller left quite a welt there. These always worry me for the simple fact that they can carry the Lyme disease. I will monitor it, and if I see or feel any of the symptoms, I will get my rear into the Dr ASAP!

Tonight, I pulled the Harley out of the garage, and fired it up! Wow,....I forgot how much power the thing had! What a shame I have to sell it, but at this point in my life, it's just not possible to ride long distances. Hopefully I will be able to get a full 8hrs or so to wash and wax it, and list it on Craigslist. It's a 2008 model with just a hair over 6000mi on it. Practically brand new!

Ok!....I have probably bored you all to tears, so I will leave you, wishing you a low pain week!

Hi Matt good to see you.

David your week looks like mine. 3 Dr appts, labs and xrays. My 15 yr old daughter graduated middle school taking home a Citizenship award,Principal award for making honor roll every term for the school year,a art award for 2 pieces of her work that won a spot in an art show for our county. And her best award for scoring a 4.0 on the FCATS.

She also got a $100 gift card an invitation to a art show her art Teacher has a painting in at Peabody Center,something I could never afford a ticket to on SSDI. Top that with being accepted into Mainland highs academy of performing arts school and she made this Mother proud.

She's beat all odds and stats coming from a single disabled parent living inner city below poverty levels. I couldn't ask for more. I think back on the numerous guilt trips I took not being able to be a "normal " parent to her. The many hours that all we could do was lie in bed and read and draw together and when I walked away from the gymnasium I knew not one moment had cheated her in anyway.

Although this seems bragging I wanted all the CP parents to know the guilt we carry is wasted. Its not about what we can't do for our children as CPers, its about what we can do that makes a difference.

As for me still waiting on RA and Lymes test results.

Hopefully David we will survive all our Drs visits this week.

Hi everyone. I've had a bad week so far. Just not feeling good. I've had a headache for 2 days now, I'm stuck at work, my hips and back hurt, and I'm just grumpy. Sorry for the whine, I'll go get the cheese. 8-)

I've finally felt the "nerve pain" that you guys have talked about, OMG I really don't see how you can handle that kind of pain constantly, I really feel bad for you. It was in the bottom of my foot, it felt like I stepped on a nail or something, thankfully, it only lasted a few minutes, but yikers!

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I hope everyone can have as low pain day as possible.

Hello all,

Terribly awful pain attacks this week, I thought the new med (Lamotrigine) was working but clearly just a couple of good days, an illusion. Upping the dose again soon so there is hope.

Beginning to feel like I'm losing my mind with the combination of pain and drug side-effects. Had an MRI last week and awaiting the results. Part of me hopes it is clear so there is nothing serious going on, part of me hopes there is something there so they can go ahead and fix it so I don't have to live with this any more.

The everlasting struggle continues...
