Bunny, please don't give up. It's normal to feel that way when you are frightened and unsure of where to turn. You have to keep telling your doctors what you've said here. Make them listen!
Now I am someone who knows a bit about
SI pain, from my own experience. Has your do tor done a diagnostic SI injection to be certain that's where the pain is coming from? Have you worked with a physiotherapist? There are lots of exercises that can help the SI pain, but must be done regularly. If the pain is definitely from the SI joint, then the last resort, and I mean the last resort, is surgery. I have had both my SI joints fused with success. The left one gives me no problems at all now, the right I am still working with the physiotherapist. The piriformis muscle can cause some intense back and leg pain as the sciatic pain runs past, or sometimes through the piriformis muscle.
Feel free to e mail me if I can help at all with you SI problems. I am sure you will be able to get some relief from this. Oh just one more thought, have you tried a chiropractor. Some people swear by them, some hate them. But when you are in pain anything is worth trying, even if it's only once.
Take care
Jane
