I have been in pain management for three years with the same group.I have never failed a drug test but my provider can no longer accept OWCP so now I am looking for someone who does.I am disheartened and extremely sad since I liked my PM clinic. No one around Fayetteville TN accepts federal owcp and now I am out a clinic I really liked. Can anyone point me in a direction to get any help with this situation? The PM clinic said I was a model patient and that I was not being discharged but they cant see me without another insurance company.I heve federal blue cross but my case with work comp is still
open for medical treatment.I am lost and depressed.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you see if they can help you afford paying out of pocket? I know doctors that will charge off a portion of the cost for cash paying patients to help them out.
I'm so, so sorry. My pain management/ob gyn team are so important to me. I can't imagine having to leave them so I know this must be hard for you. If you can't stay with them then good luck finding a new doctor. Maybe you'll find someplace even better! Hugs and good luck to you!
What area are you in?

Welcome to the boards...Sorry to hear about
this situation...
I would first start with talking with your PM Dr. and all the nurses in the clinic where you have been going and ask them for recommendations.
And then trying to contact your insurer and ask them who is listed as PM that takes this? I don't know much about
worker's comp things but I do know that it can be difficult at times that is for sure!
I didn't look and see, but you need to set up a generic email address (as in, I wouldn't use your regular one for safety purposes) so that people who have any recommendations can email you with them.
Can your PM now at least discount your appts. and still write your prescript
ions until you find a new Dr.?
I don't have any insurance and haven't for years now and I only have to see my PM every 3 months and he charges $75 so that is doable. And then I get my meds through Sam's club which is the least expensive in my entire area.
Just some thoughts....I hope you can find someone soon!

Not sure if your prescript
ions are affected and I know SB mentioned Sam's Club but Costco is super inexpensive too. And you don't have to have a membership to use them. You just tell the gal or guy at the door that you are simply using the pharmacy. When my son was younger and I was between jobs he needed an inhalor and at the chain pharmacies the cost was 25.00 bucks.. at COSTCO, they were three for $30 or $12.00 a piece!

Yep...by law they have to let anyone use the Pharmacy and not have a membership. I happen to buy the yearly membership because I get even deeper discounts up to 40% even 80%!
As well as I always fill up my tank of gas there which in between that and a month or two of my prescript
ions it pays for the yearly membership...LOL
It's best to call around as many Pharmacies will match the price of another to get/keep your business.

It makes a HUGE difference in my area where I live...It's close to .40 less per gallon! Thankfully my Sam's club just changed manufacturers for my generic MSContin so now it's $40 less a month than previously!! Every penny counts!
10ecman...we hope you come back to share a bit more details and a little more about
your pain/health issues if you choose.
This is a wonderful site filled with people who truly understand what it's like to live with CP.

They just today,
opened up our first and only SAM's Club in our wee town. Was too crowded today to consider going, have the membership card. Never thought about
using their prescript
ion services, been with CVS for so many years.
Hope you find a quick solution to your problem, I would hate to be in that situation.

I too have work comp for a leg injury and just used private insurance for a second opinion. You are able to use
private insurance if w/c is not accepted.
