Nothing much on my agenda this week other than staying cool and trying to beat the heat here in Florida. The rain does nothing to cool it down.

My 15 yr holds flying (1st time) to Texas to my other daughters for a 3 week visit this week. Causing me major anxiety. She's never been on a plane and never been away for more then 2 nights. I will not know what to do with myself.

Appointments next week but just therapy this week.

Hopefully everyone will have a good week and some will even get a break from the monotony of pain. That's my wish for the week.

Tina are you thinking about the next outta pain zone topic? We had a lot of fun with that. Really appreciate you starting them.

My plan for the week is pretty short.I'm calling this morning about the new hip pain(on another thread) But other than that I plan to hang out with my granddaughter. My daughtor in law ot laid off last week so I don't get her every day.

I also plan to check on my garden. Not sure I can do much weeding, but there are sone veggies ready to come in.

Oh gosh I can't even think about her going away to college!! I've been raising kids for 32 yrs what will I do?

Hehe,all the things I've not got to do in 35 yrs by the time she leaves.

She's staying 3 weeks and will return a week before school starts. I know she will have a great time and so deserves it. On SSDI she's not got to do alot in her life. They are going to a big zoo? Seeing the conjuring and six flags and some good old Texas history at San Antonio. She'll have a great time she otherwise wouldn't get. My older daughter is married and they are fairly well off and they have a condo in Orlando but because of their jobs they only get here a few times a year and she misses seeing her little sister.

She's going to take Markala school shopping too and that will help me greatly as you know how expensive their clothes are.

Her flights like and hour and 20 minutes because of the time difference but. Im still scared of flying ..

Jerome and I went to The Taste of Buffalo yesterday, and had lots of fun. It's really hot and humid here, so I had to be careful with my Fentanyl patch, and not get too hot. It was hard, but there was some shade, so I took advantage of it quite a few times. Also, those of you that are friends with me on Facebook can see our picture that we had done yesterday.

I don't have any appointments this week. We also don't have anything planned for the week, so I'll be staying inside most of the time.

Vickie I'm sure your daughter will be fine. I'm scared of getting on a plane as well, so I do understand your anxiety. We're planning to visit my side of the family this Christmas, but we are riding the Greyhound, because it's cheaper, and also it doesn't go up in the air.

Well, I'll go now. I hope everyone is having a low pain evening.

Vickie, I'd be pulling my hair out if I was sending one of my kids on a plane alone.

Nothing exciting here. Just my crazy zoo of a house. I love my kids but its time for them to go back to school before I completely lose my mind.

My youngest just finished up her last PT session. Yeah no more running twice a week for that. And she was excited, she got a t-shirt from her PT for graduating from PT.

Totally spaced out and forgot to go to the New Balance tent sale. So I'm hoping they have another one so I can get the kids new sneakers for school. And I probably should get started on school clothes. They go back early this year at the end of August.

The kids got hubby to cave on a new pet. So we're the proud owners of a momma and her baby degu. We really didn't need anymore pets around here. A few more and I think I can open a petting zoo. lol

Only big excitement is I decided not to renew my EMT license. I haven't been able to work in the back of an ambulance in years and I finally had to admit I'm just not going to be able to do the lifting anymore. Its a little depressing as I loved doing it.

We had 6 children. 3 of them had their first "flying experience" going to Boston, we live in Louisiana. They were excited & I was a nervous wreck LOL.

When the last one left home, it took me quite a while to get use to quite/silent. Several went to college, but they stayed here. We live in a large metro area so there are several colleges, including a private one that one of them went to on scholarship. They all live here. It's an adjustment, but knowing they are happy and living productive lives is a huge help.

Don't feel badly about the SSDI. My hubby was disabled for a number of yrs and saying things were tight is a understatement. But, our children learned what the really important things in life are and that money doesn't buy Happiness, Love, Good Health, etc. Money makes us comfortable, it doesn't buy the most important things. And for things like Prom Dresses, Fees for competitions, school trips, etc, the Lord Always Put Someone There To Help.

Hey David when my the older girls started hounding me, I had no idea until last week what a degu was either. lol

They are a rodent like animal from Chile. Some scientist's are actually not convinced that they are actually rodents. They burrow like a prarie dog but have habits more like a chinchilla and guninea pig. They have the long tail like a rat but the tail is furry unlike the rat. And they need to have dust baths a couple of times a week like a chinchilla. Plus side is they are not nocturnal animals so they don't drive you batty at night.

Apparently they make better pets than hamsters and such because they are very friendly and learn very quick. These ones were someone else's pet and they got tried of them and dropped them off at our local humane society. So the mama degu acutally comes to her name when you call her.

I had to tell the kids to make sure they don't let them loose or it'll be a blood bath around here. I've already had to hang our birdcage with the keets from the ceiling to keep them away from the cat.

Thank you Leslie for telling me about Megabus. I checked and they don't go to Nashville. My family lives near Nashville. That's a bummer.
