Plz help with only someone who understands where im coming from

You need to follow your doctors instructions to the letter. You don't want to mix drugs unless your doctor has prescribed it. If you mix drugs your body functions could shut down and you could DIE. Withdraws are not fun to deal with but it is better then the alternative and dying. We all understand chronic pain, withdrawal feelings, and the temptation to use more then what the doctor gave us. You will feel like crap, that feeling of euphoria given to you by your pain management drugs will never happen again. Its the same feeling chronic drug addicts are chasing, that first real high. It will take some time but each day the symptoms of withdrawal will abate a little bit more till you are feeling better. You can do it, it takes real strength to deal with pain and then withdrawal on top of it but the doctor switched up your drug cocktail for a reason. Be safe and follow his/her advice. If you can't handle it then call the doctor and let them know whats going on. They are the only ones who can switch up your medications.

Trust me I understand. I am on nuerontin as well. It takes about a week to build in your system and even then it only takes off the edge of nerve pain. We all want to feel better but the point of pain management is to manage the pain not to take it away completely. There isn't a drug out there that will take it away without sending us into a state of catatonia. If you feel that the Burtran isn't doing what it should be you need to contact your PCP or PM and talk to them about it. Communication is key if it isn't working then you might have some form of immunity to the Butran. I have immunity to about 50% of the narcotics out there. They flat out don't work for me so I can understand about no pain management even though they have given you something that should flat out knock you on your butt. You need to get a hold of your doctor and discuss perhaps a different delivery system for your fentanyl. If he/she took you off fentanyl for a reason then you need to discuss with them about a better pain management. Unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done about the withdrawal feelings, your body became accustomed to the euphoric serotonin release that the narcotics gave you and it wants that feeling again. Call your doctor and let them know what is going on. That's all you can do. They are the ones who can change up your medications.

Its pointless to mix it .. I just seen ita a BLOCKER .. Id be wasting my patches i got .. I got a drs appt next friday .. Ima ask to be put on methadone .. I dont want this stuff .. Thanks for lissening but no1 here knows anything about butrans i want someone on butrans to answer me tho ..

Not on Butrans but 13 yrs on methadone. Please read my post "thoughts please " and try to give the Butrans a chance. Give some thought to all your options and hopefully by the time your appointment rolls around you will have figured it all out.

Hello Jordan252, let me be brutally honest with you, you are digging yourself a large hole that at some point you will have trouble getting out of.

Please for your sake, and the sake of your life, follow the directions given by your pm doctor. If you think you had a monkey on your back waiting for the butran to begin working, may the powers that be protect you if you dont follow your doctors directions and you find yourself kicked off your pm doctor, clinic, whatever.

It sounds like u have been through alot in a short time, dont make it worse for yourself by not following your doctors instructions. In these times of the DEA breathing down our pm doctors necks, its no time to mess up what I hope is a good relationship with your pm doc. All things in good time my friend.

That is what is best - work with your doctor. It is very important that you follow their instructions exactly or you could get dropped. I know it is hard - we all do on these boards - many of us have been dealing with cp for years and have been doing our best to deal...but like you said YOU ARE ALIVE! I do hope you are able to find the relief that you need. I am on neurontin, tramadol, oxy 5mg(I keep the dose low so I can adjust when I am at work so I am not slobbering all over myself. Also muscle relaxers. It can take some trial and error to find what is best for managing your pain, but dont do this on your own.
