Thank you Tina as always for getting this up. I use it thru out the week as a calendar or agenda to remind myself who had what tests or procedure scheduled

Going into day 5 with my "baby" away in Texas and taking the lexapro. Skipped 5mgs of methadone 2 days and after not noticing the missing amount, no increase pain, w/d symptoms I broke the 5 in half 2 days making my actual daily amount be 37.5mgs. Next week if all goes well with that I will drop the other half and take 35mg as a daily dose. I will stay on that course until I reach 20mgs daily or pain I can't handle some other way sets in.

For those who wish to see my outing yesterday check the insomnia thread. Hoping the anti-depressant is making some headway.

No appts for me this week and hoping to add a extra pool session this week to kinda support the drop in meds.

Had a short nap since posting reply to Barbara.. am hoping she went to ER after reading the posts after mine..

Nothing much different going on with me this week - so far. Hope the weather is nice enough that I can take a walk.

Hello all I am on vacation and have not had time to check in daily. I will read the threads and see what I have missed. I hope it is all good news.
At my last post I had been to the neuro and got bad news on the MRI (worening arthritis and newly diagnosed stenosis) The Cymbalta has been a miracle! I have no nervepain at all. Being the ADHD spase that I am I only packed half of my opana (one a ay instead of two) Well I don't notice any difference in pain. In fact yeterday and so far today I didn't take any. I have been able to control my pain with the Cymbalta nad Aleve! I can't do this long term as the aleve will irritate my ulcers, but I think I may be ready for a med. reduction chat with my PM! I have my regular appt. on the 12th. I'll see if this lasts!
Hoping for low pain days for all!

Yes, I am worried about Barbara also, based on her last report.

We were going to the Ikea shop in Charlotte this past weekend, but my wife changed her mind (thank goodness, I wasn't sure how I was going to make 4 hours of driving and endless hours in a huge store).

Instead, they opened a new Jo Ann's Fabric store in Greenville, and took her there instead. How anyone can spend hours in a fabric/sewing store is beyond me, but thankfully there were chairs to sit on, so it kept me off my feet. It was fun watching other husbands going out of their minds while their wives shopped. I learned the art of "zoning out" mentally, and I never get impatient in those situations.

Then we visited my youngest son's new rental house. Very nice.

Sunday, as typical for us, mostly a chill day. To me, long nap. Then grilled out some really nice steaks last night.

Pain was bad most of Saturday, but back to more normal levels on Sunday.

Today, getting some training from ex-boss on doing something for him I never did before, he's going on another vacation this week, and wants me to fill in 2 afternoons this week. Not sure if I am up to it, we will be discussing it later this morning.

May be going by my oncologist office on Wednesday, waiting to hear back from his nurse.

David, don't push youself too hard. You know I worry about you when that ex-boss gets involved! lol:) I know he has done wonderful things for you also. I'm just saying....

She'll be back in no time! Try to enjoy the quiet time. I have been on Lexapro for since 2004. It works well for me. It was not the first (or second) med my doc tried, but Im glad we landed on it. I hope it works as well for you!

thanks. I think he learned his lesson after I passed out in the heat recently. if I do fill in a few hours, it will be on my schedule, and it will be in an a/c office, and would be sitting behind a desk the entire time. I will see how much he is expecting of me later. part of me enjoys it, because I am sitting at my old desk looking out the window over downtown Greenville. hard to believe its been 5 years this month, since I was working there as a full time employee.

Thanks for starting the thread Tina. Hope your appointment goes well.

Vickie: Your daughter will be back soon. Time will go by quickly. She'll have a good vacation as well.
Diane: Hope you had a good nap.
Lesley: Sorry about the MRI report.
David: Lesley is right. Take it easy.

Nothing exciting happened over the weekend. Just cleaning the house and visiting dad in the hospital. We're hoping he'll the test and then discharged this week.
My vacation started last Friday. I go back out to work on Monday.

No plan for this upcoming week. I have appointment with my psychologist tomorrow. Other than that, I'm home catching up on sleep and will be visiting dad.

I work at a tutoring center...got more hours this week so excited about that. Usually the summer is busy with students needing ACT tutoring, but it has been a dry well this summer. Weekend went well...did a little bit of Yoga...learned some stretches for my back that I plan to do every morning.

Did meet with my ex-boss today, and we compromised, I will come in and help out Thursday afternoon for about 3 hours, not the two sessions he wanted. When we went to lunch, instead of assuming, he asked me if I could sit outside. It was 88 and humid, and I was already getting bothered by the heat, I simply said "no way". He agreed without complaint, something new for him, lol. I am not going to put myself in that position again. Plenty of time for outdoor dining when fall arrives.

Was unable to fall back.asleep early this AM.. sigh

It is almost midnite so gonna head to bed with hi hopes.. suppose to be a lovely day tomorrow so want to get rest tonite.

David, your plan to help your friend sounds like a short enjoyable 'trip down memory lane' for you. I miss being at work sometimes myself - spent a lot of my life working. Big change when I could no longer do it.
