Blueeyes thanks for explaining the situation further. I have to say that I realize you were trying to be a good friend but to whom? They obviously are not thinking of you in the same terms and you've done her a great injustice almost as bad as she's done you.

She's obviously been in trouble with the law,on probation, continuing her bad behavior and you and I guess her brother are reenforcing that bad behavior. As long as people get away with bad and criminal behavior they will continue to act out that behavior.

You should not have been expected to overlook it by her brother either for its obvious to me he chose not to care about the consequences to you only his sister. Friends? Not by my way of thinking.

At the least you need to always report these things to your Dr, it would have at that time been reflected in your chart that you reported a theft to them even if you refused to make a police report.

Anytime your in the ER for something that's causing an increase in pain, report it,any meds I'm given that may alter or effect my blood or urine I report. Do so as it occurs and don't wait until the next visit. Just a call and there its documented.

Hoping you find another Dr and this has been a difficult learning situation but these days we have to play by the rules.

gee im glad I don't have to go thru the same amount of run around you guys do

for my patches I had to sign a contract with the drugs of dependence authority and my dr here is Australia and that was it .

I go to his rooms every 3 months and I get enough scripts for my patches to cover that time same with my break thru meds . he always asked how many bt meds I take a day but never have I had to bring them in or have them counted . ive never had to have a urine test at all. he asked how im coping as we are still playing with dosages on my norspan patches ;butrans" to you guys .

I suspect I will end up in a pain clinic soon but even that works different I think to the way it is over there as it is things like endone "oxycontin" he cant prescribe long term but if I go to a pain clinic and they work out a plan what ever they recommend for me he can then write up for me with there approval .

insurance has nothing to do with what they can or cant subscribe here if your on disability what ever you are prescribed a lot of it is covered and only cost you 5 dollars a script under medicare ..however myself I was on disability but when I met my partner she earned to much so I got kicked of the pension along with cheap meds as its means tested here. I can still get my meds but I have to pay full price for them im lucky we are in a situation where we can afford it . its interesting reading how our health system differ so much . don't worry ours have plenty of flaws in as well . say I need a hip replacement I could wait yrs for my turn to come up for it . but I have private health care I could see a surgeon on a Monday and have a new hip by Friday but you pay for the privilege I pay around 150 dollars a month for private health care .

reading some of the stories on here im glad I live down under :-)

I'm in South Florida where it's really strict here and never in my 4 years had pills counted. My PM Dr has never asked me about bringing pills in or if I've run out either. We submit to urine tests whenever they want really.

I do know many patients I used to see in the waiting room get dropped because they have other drugs in their system then what was prescribed by the PM Dr. (mostly marijuana and other illegal drugs).

I have exceptionally good private insurance, and I'm fortunate for that. Unfortunately, here in America, we may be slowly losing this control over our health care options. I think that is also one reason, (and remember, I am 50 with a 40 year old spouse), I feel anxious and pushed to stay even more on top of my health and not let things "ride" just to "see how it unfolds." I cannot afford that, and it's been my ability to receive such good health care that's permitted me to get serious surgeries addressed in a timely manner. I am in fear of losing that.

I don't know what's around the corner, and I'll confess, some stories do scare me, that I may face such obstacles that I currently do not. Since I do have specialists on board, nothing is being done willy nilly or without significant diagnostics and communication.

I have many fortunes with regard to my actual health care, and I don't like change in general, much less any reform I may also face with my out of state move and new practitioners, (so a national as well as local concern of more hoop jumping and the inability to relax with what I've worked so very hard to accomplish and manage). Some of the stories relayed admittedly do frighten me.
