Good Morning,
Thank you for all your responses!
There is certainly no easy answer, I feel too that issues of chronic pain are difficult to define clearly.
These issues have far reaching consequences if not for us personally, but for our loved ones.
The stigma of taking medications instead of just toughing it out is ridiculous!
I also feel that doctors tend to blame patients, sometimes prescribing a litany of alternative therapies or just by saying "it is in your head" I believe this happens more to women. Of course one of the favorites, out right denial that you have the pain at all! Frequently you are then dismissed!
There are some studies about med school training that explain why some of these things are happening.
All that I mentioned, are just my opinions, but I am trying to research topics to bolster my points.
This forum in itself is a fabulous source of information and support that really can't be found from doctors, family and friends.
Please don't think that I don't prescribe to alternate therapies, as I have found that can offer surprising relief.
Although I haven't posted much, I am beginning to feel more comfortable. My goal is to respect and accept each individual and offer kindness and caring without judgment. I need to let go of anger and resentment and live each day to the fullest. Sounds noble, right!? All I can do is try.
What makes this forum great is the variety of people! The ability to safely share very intimate details is unique and very special.
All of you are in my thoughts and I wish you find some relief for your pain today.
Anna
