How scared should I be??

Like I told you guys earlier, my Dr. wants me to see a rheumatologist. I got a call a few mins ago. It was their office. They want me there ASAP. Set me up an apt on Monday. I asked her if she could read me the numbers because my nurse only told me they were high. She said she could not because she was not a nurse, only that they were high enough that I needed to come in ASAP, but not high enough that I needed to be seen today. A few days wouldn't hurt. What kind of crap is that!
I'm sure all of you have had your share of scares, and fears. Back and forth with different doctors. How worried should I be about this?

I agree.  The nurse could have used a more tactful approach, but if there was something that alarmed them, they'd be getting you in directly.

I've had results that required me to go back in to see my doctor after labs.  Whatever it was, we discussed it and addressed it.

I would think the point was just that they want to make sure, while this is all fresh, that they get stepping.

Try not to worry, and know that everything is taken care of:  The lab work done, the phone calls made, and your appointment scheduled.  So that's great.  You're right on top of everything!

I fully agree with the statements made by Lolokonoki. If you are nice to the gatekeepers, they will be much more willing to help you, always show them respect, even if they seem a bit short with you on the phone.

Most of my doctors offices have clauses that if a patient is rude with any of the staff that they have a right to be dismissed as a patient. I go to OSU - Ohio State University for all of my care and that is their office policy across the board. It is even written into my pain management contract that includes any of the staff from the gatekeeper at the front desk all the way to the doctors.

I also wouldn't be to worried. If it was really bad, they would have fit you in the same day. When I had cancer, this is what happened to me. The oncologist called and asked me to come in just 2 days after my testing, he had originally told me it would take 5 to 7 days to get results. He told me that afternoon that I had Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and hospitalized me the very next day. So since it can wait a few days, it is not of an urgent nature, they just want to make sure that you get in and get it taken care of.
