Little side bar: Sometimes the help we need to lose weight comes from what we "add" to our diet, not just what foods we "eliminate."
Here comes the trumpet for water! It's not unusual for us to "mix signals" and think we're hungry and grab for food, when actually, we're thirsty, and it's our brain's way (that "want center") to satisfy our urges.
A little trial is, if you feel hungry, fine, agree to eat. Just drink one of those little bottles of water and make an agreement with yourself that you'll eat in 20 minutes. If you're still hungry, go ahead, eat your healthy meal or snack. If you find you've sort of "forgotten" about it, it means you were dehydrated.
So all you're doing is agreeing to put a 20 minute hold on food (that's not too long), and in the process get some plain, ordinary, regular water into your system too. If you don't like water, chug that little 8 oz glass, just get it down, and watch TV or prepare dinner, read a book....
