Thanks for covering today Vickie, my friends funeral was today, not one of my better days to say the least.

well had an appt. with my pmd's pa this morning. had a refill of meds and a new type of test today. i don't recall the name but it's taken to measure the enzymes in your system and also to get an idea
of how different meds interact in your system. relatively new or at least new to me. (does this make any sense to anyone?? other than that it's been kinda of a bummer of a day. they are still not prescribing
my oxycodone to match the doseage. now i see him every month and i'm giving #90 pills to last a month
and the doseage is 1-2 pills every 4-6 hours which equals 15 days. (well according to my wife) so that screws me outta 1/2 a months supply. also i learned there is a shortage of my medicine so i went to a couple of places and then the hospital. now they had the right amount and said it would be ready in a half hour. so i wait til times up and they call me up only to say it;s too soon to fill my refill. (won't be time til jan. 30th. so i wait ten days. i haven't overtaken them at any time so i'm not sure whats going on. and two more weeks til i see my surgeon. ah delima delima..well one of these days i guess...thanks for the vent..(if i'm wrong in my math work there,if anyone see's something i missed, please let me know) thanks......mark

Susie- I am so sorry for your loss and the (emotionally) painful day this must have been. I hope the physical pain is at a minimum and letting you rest tonight.

Finally had sun her (Oregon) so took my son to the park and got to enjoy it! Straight for th b/t med when I got home but it was worth it. Have my last p/t visit tomorrow. Time to figure out what to do next I suppose.

I haven't left the house.

I did buy crampons so I could take my Poochie out for his constitutional. (I know Vickie will feel blush with pride when she reads that since it was her egging me on, uhm, politely but firmly of course,....so that I would suck it up and purchase those dang (life-saving) things in the first place,--for my safety,-- so I could walk my 70lb "happy-happy-joy-joy) doggie out on the icy back hill! See? See? I DO listen. ..............................(usually) :)

But otherwise, I am coughing so much I feel like I'm going to blow a vessel. I'm taking OTC cough syrup with expectorant as directed, and last night I even took Nyquill as directed. Not a gosh dang thing.

My ribs feel like I'm going to cough them right out of my mouth, my back hurts from hucking, I've got quite the collection of Ricola cough drops going,...and oddly, my Rx headache med that I took these two days (not mixed with Nyquill, of course) didn't do a gosh darn doodly thing.

I've had to cancel my Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday appointments (with what little voice I have left) and hope they aren't too peeved to get me back in.

This is the big indicator when even my Hubby knows all is not well with M's world: I don't eat!

(I love food, I love to eat, still gotta learn to cook better but hey, one thing at a time). So if I'm eating he knows it isn't too bad. Two days, however,....he's getting edgy.

And oh yes, oh glorious yes,....we're being blanketed by yet another massive covering of a snow storm! Isn't that just divine? Isn't that mah-velous?

Hubby's work lost power for a few hours yesterday (massive medical building, so you can imagine)...me, I'm wrapped up with water, golden gingerale, and I'm not budging from the TCM (Turner Classic Movies! My absolute and utmost favourite ever!)

That's a lot to cram into a weekend, isn't it? Shucks, leave it to me? (I was waiting until Vickie posted it so I could blame her!) ;-P (You know I love you kiddo!)

Well it snowed here Friday morning and I had to get up early and drive in it to the VA hospital, As I had to get an MRI of my Brain at 8 AM then nerve conduction studies done right afterwards, came home to let my dog out and then had to go back for sleep apnea appointments, Had a beautiful weekend and Monday, it was sunny and warm, got up in the upper 40's and lower 50's and melted all the snow. Then this morning I got up to, (you guessed it) more snow again! Pretty heavy for a while, we got about 3 or so inches, and temps are dropping like a rock!. And of course I had to drive back to the VA this morning to finish up the nerve conduction studies. What a nasty drive that was!

They told me Friday that I had severe neuropathy in both my feet and lower legs. The test was kind of funny as he kept telling me that I would feel a shock and my foot or leg would jump, and it might be painful. He would count to three and then supposedly zap me, but most of the time I didn't feel it! He kept doing it and increasing the juice, and once in a while I would feel a slight tingle! He ended up having a couple of doctors come in and look at the results.

Today they finished up the studies, the ones they did today is when they stick the needle into the muscle and then have you relax your limb then move it against the techs hand. I thought that was more unpleasant but still not to bad. Anyway after he was done he went out and talked to some body and then told me that the weakness and neuropathy in my limbs was definitely not caused by my back but something in my brain, and that it will be interesting to see what the MRI shows, and he thought that when I seen the Neurologist in March that more test would probably be ordered.

I have had an Brain MRI done in 2010 and there were spots, so we shall see, what this one shows. Just a foot note, when I transferred my records down her to Kentucky, I seen the VA doctor and he has ordered all these test because of my weakness in my limbs and balance problems, and the previous test results.

It seems the last few times I have had appointments, it snows and the roads go to pot!! Ha
