Hi All,

Going to pm next week. I am currently on tramedol. Heard about Nucynta on web.

Any comments. Any users.

I took it for around 6 months.I got up to two
150 milligrams a day.

It's pretty good for pain at high doses but after 6 months I asked for a change.

I'm happier now.

One thing about the Nucynta is if you lay back in a recliner or on your bed you might take a nap.At least that's the way it affected me.

I was sleeping 12-14 hours a day.

If I stayed moving I wouldn't get sleepy.

It may affect you differently.

I was on it for a month and could not continue. Zero libedo, actually, zero interest in anything at all other than sleeping and if those side effects weren't bad enough, the pain control was simply not there. Perhaps that was due to the dose, 100mg x2 a day. It just didn't help me.

As with all medications, your mileage may vary wink

Up until I had to go back on Medicaid a few months ago I was on Nucynta. Started on 100 mg/2x day and then 150mg/2x day.

I did pretty well on it and was down to using only 1-2 4mg hydromorphone (Dilaudid) per day for breakthrough at most. Some days I didn't need any breakthrough at all.

I had no side effects or unwanted effects while on it and would still be taking it if not for Medicaid not covering it here in IL.

 I asked for a change just hoping for something that would provide more pain relief and not make me sleepy.

I'm not sure I'm getting this with the dosage I'm on but hopefully things will get better.

Tried it...something about the "anti-depressant" qualities really, really messed with my brain I think...

Felt sick when I took it...both physically and mentally.

My PA/Doc said it might have been W/D symptoms from going off of Norco suddenly...But I KNOW how W/D feel...never once felt what I felt while taking Nucynta.

But hey! It may work for you! Supposed to help a lot with nerve pain. Wish it had worked for me...
