Well Mark back when I quit there wasn't anything available to help you. I had tried tapering off of them. Cutting down the number of cigs I smoked every day. But that didn't work very well. I done the hard candy and all that, but nothing really worked. Finally after many many unsuccessful tries, I just decided to go cold turkey! Took it one day at a time, but I told myself I would hot say I stopped smoking or consider myself a non smoker until I went a full year without every having a cig touch my lips. My incentive was we ( wife and I) wanted to have children and I didn't want them to be exposed to smoking. My then wife did not smoke so that was my motivation to quit that was back in 1975 I was in the Air Force in Anchorage Alaska. Our first child was born in Dec 1976. Neither of my daughters ever new I ever smoked.
So it can be done! It is not easy, and you never really do completely lose the urge to smoke, especially if your around somebody smoking! But to be successful you just want to have to want to do it bad enough and then quit!!!
Good luck to you and I wish success on your endeavour!
