Nerve pain

Okay, today my class mate punched me really really hard in the neck near trapezius muscle with the top of his fist and the pain was that sharp i couldn't move my head. So basically few hours later I still feel the uncomfortable feeling in my neck. Everytime I move my head onto another side i feel like my nerve is streching and it hurts. Should I be worried? Can a nerve be damaged that way? Especially i'm interesed if motor nerve can be damaged that way? Please help i'm in worry because it's uncomfortable and really painful at least for now.

Thanks for responding. And this happened at the school but unfortunately I didn't tell any of teacher. And the day later I stil feel somekind of a sore feeling in my neck. I hope this won't affect or even damage my nerves?

I agree with others here, and suggest that you seek a health professional. Also it would be wise to report this to an administrator of the school you are attending. One more suggestion, is that this individual probably has gotten by with this before, and most likely will continue doing so unless confronted by someone with authority, I might suggest reporting it to the police as well, because when you really come down to it, ...it really is an assault. You may actually save some other innocent person from the same type of injury or worse, an injury that may last a lifetime.

This type of thing is prohibited in places of employment, and is usually cause for immediate termination. In fact, most companies have a ZERO tolerance policy on it, even if it is horseplay! I have seen several employees terminated for this kind of action over the years where I am employed.

…just a little encouragement here,…..I remember taking some pretty good punches to my body…way, way, way, way back in my youth, and usually recovered pretty quickly at that age. The older we get?…well that is debatable! :)
