Ok folks I have certifiably lost my mind!!

I'm sure of that fact because somehow I got snookered into or agreed to having 3 teenage girls overnight, my 9 year old grandaughter, and babysitting a 5 month old until his mother gets off her bartenders job at 4am??

So here I sit frazzled holding a screaming baby whose mom forgot his bottle waiting for someone to get to the store and buy me one, listening to the drone above me from my teens room thats supposed to constitute music? All the while wondering how long my grandaughter can keep going on the bowl of sugar I caught her eating 2 hours ago with some weird looking characters called despicable playing on my flat screen!! Hoping that my 2 cats that had more sense then me and escaped at the first chance dont run away forever or get lost until I can put this screaming hungry baby to bed and go look for them!!

Thats after I change my wet clothes that got wet when the nozzle on the kitchen sink took the exact moment I turned it on to fly off! Since the tools are something I've not located yet since my move several weeks ago it's out of commission for tonight at least!

By now your wondering what this has to do with chronic pain right? Well I can assure you it will have everything to do with mine tomorrow!! If I survive the entire long night ahead and am not found dazed and confused wondering the streets!!

Sorry to hear you had such a rough night! :/

Hope you aren't dealing with too much pain from all that PLUS the stress!!!

I'm sure we have all lost count on the number of times we have powered through the pain(or done something that led to pain).

We CPers are a tough bunch

I'm always more then glad to bring laughter to you my friends! It took a few days to figure out whether I was going to survive!

Unfortunately it didn't end with getting a bottle! I noticed his formula was different then usual but figured Mom knew what she was doing, I fed now hysterical,starved baby, sit him up to burp and all 8 ounces of that bottle was now covering my bed, him, and my now damp clothes! Seems WIC changed formula contracts and this little guy was having none of it!! When mom forgot the bottle she also forgot any extra clothes! It's been 15 years since I had anything that small in the house!! It was far too late to sent anyone back out for clothes so this little fellow fell into an exhausted sleep wearing one of my daughters far too big T-shirts by a band I could certainly relate to their name, Bring me the horizon ",but were likely the culprit of the earlier thumping from above!

Then I fell into an exhausted sleep on the sofa, add another notch on the pain scale, only to be awakened an hour later by my teen asking where her friends were? After searching the house and patio we deemed them missing! At this point I'm nearly as hysterical as baby was! I grabbed my phone, took off towards the beach looking and making that 2 am call every parent dreads getting!

My cat's by the way were sleeping peacefully under the deck chairs, certainly out of the disaster in the house!

No teen age girls among the few transients on the beach and I'm dialing the police when one of the girls parents call back and they're there! It seems they got bored after my daughter fell asleep and went to get more WII games? 2 am? Daytona beach? A quarter of a million strangers in town for the 500? Are you kidding me? I can't stress here how very lucky my teen is that she was asleep and not in on this escapade!! Kids you gotta lovem right? They have no clue as to the evils lurking!

My nightmare ended and began at about 5:30 when babys mom decided to come get him, by the way the girls weren't allowed to return, nor will they ever after having left my house without a word to anyone. I spent the next day on that sofa too tired to get to my bed with my dear Moms words sounding in my head "you wait! One day you'll have kids and I hope they give you half the trouble you've given me "

Good Grief Charlie Brown ! I'm exhausted just reading about your weekend Vickie. Of course after having 6 children myself I do remember the exhaustion very well. I've also known the fear of a missing child, and that does things to you physically, mentally and emotionally that words can't describe. Even if they weren't your children, they were in your care. I am so Thankful they are ok. And glad they won't be coming back to your home. It was very rude, thoughtless and self centered to just walk out at 2 am without saying anything to anyone.

If you ever see those girls again, tell them leaving by way of the window is called sneaking out. I wonder why these kids think they are the first to sneak out a window, smoke a cigarette, sneak out the car, & skip school for a day. I guess they think we are too old to remember some of those things, lol.

I'm in complete agreement....

I'm exhausted from just reading about the barrage of escapades, the gall of even remotely trying to justify leaving a message on FB constitutes notifying the adult present, (especially with the window thing), and poor baby's tummy completely not agreeing with that formula! (And of course, the result of said lack of tummy agreement leaving remnants all over the poor little fella, your clothes, your bed!) Not to mention a restless tot in general.

Good Golly Miss Molly, but you really do enjoy living life on the edge, don't you? (On the edge of what I haven't quite figured out yet, but yeah, it's got to be an edge to something!)

Nice to know the kitties weren't interrupted from their slumber, though, hmm? ;)

Thanks for sharing your story, Vickie............ I know I'm late to the party........... but I'm sorry, I found it hysterical because - oh, I've been there. Maybe not the same circumstances, but the EXACT same thing of "I've lost my mind".

I thought things were going to get a bit easier............ WRONG. I now have FOUR teen boys, one almost TEEN boy, a 10 year old boy and identical twin 3 year old girls. On most days - I want to pull my hair out.

And I'm not an "easy" mom (though I've relaxed as I've gotten older)......... but I do expect a lot -- manners, obedience. hard work -- things that you would think would just be common sense but not so much these days!! (Don't get me started!!).

As for the sneaking out girls - WOW! I would have been LIVID.

As for baby, awwwwww, that makes me sad. Do you babysit this baby often? If you do - I might insist that you have a few things left out at your house for these type of things -- change of clothes, extra diapers, BOTTLES, all of that. That's the last thing you need is trying to take care of a little one w/out the things you need!!
