Hey DC.Welcome to Healing Well.
If you have a Doctor that you can talk to,just tell him what you just told us.
Chronic Pain is different than Acute Pain, that will go away.
A good Pain Management Doctor will help you to increase the quality of your life.
If you're life is ruled by pain and it's not going anywhere, then it may be time to see Pain Management about improving the quality of your life.
I hope you get some relief,
Rick
Thanks for the support, Rick. My concerns right now are two fold; first, I don't want to live in pain anymore, but I also don't want to become dependent/addicted to pain pills if I go down this route, and second, I worry that if I see another doctor who prescribes me pain medicine that I run the risk of being accused of doctor shopping, even though I've done no such thing, nor have any intent on doing so. It's frustrating that in the course of just trying to have my pain treated that I even have to worry about
things like this. I guess all I can do is just talk to my doctor to get his thoughts on all of this and proceed accordingly.
