how much time do you feel the pain?

I am aware of it every minute of everyday,sometimes just more aware than others.

All the time when I'm awake, and about three nights out of seven it will wake me sometime during the night. I've learned to distract myself a lot of the time.

I cannot believe is would possible to live all the time with this stomach-bowel pain I have. I think that I would kill myself.
I really admire people in this forum, I try to distract myself also (is a trick), but the pain is there all the time, every minute, every second.... after a dinner the intensity low a little bit thanks my God).
Sometimes I am speaking with another person and I cannot follow the conversation, it is imposible for me to follow the conversation because the pain is there, do you ever feel this?.

I also have constant abdominal pain. Sometimes the pain is a lot worse then others. I'm on the butrans patch which is helping some but losing it's effectiveness.

It is very hard to follow conversations or to really concentrate on anything while in pain. I just do the best I can.

seymour, I have a suggestion. When you first get up in the morning, write down what your pain level is. When you feel more or less pain, write that down along with the pain level and the time during the entite day. The first thing you eat and drink in the morning, write that down. When you eat and drink anything during the day write it down. When you go to the bathroom, write that down. When you do anything, work, watching tv, fixing s meal, etc, write that down and if your pain level changes. Also write down when you take any meds and if your pain level changes.

After a few days, you may be able to see what things, if any, you do that make your pain worse or better. You could also give it to your dr to see if it might help him figure out what may be wrong.

If someone has already suggested this, I apologize.

As Vickie said, I too am always noticing the pain just more so sometimes than others. The new pain med helps but still doesn't take it all away, it's either hurting some place or another....Mine gets worse at night. Unfortunately I have been in bad pain for as long as I can remember. I can remember crying on my bed or stopping in the middle of strapping my uncle or sisters wheel chair in the van and sobbing bc it hurt too much to bend down like that. I was roughly 9 years old when I really started bawling in pain. I try and distract myself but sometimes it's just too unbearable. I can't even browse the forums for too long bc it hurts way way too much to sit.

Every minute of every day. I have several CP issues and right now I'm dealing with the additional pain from my broken collar bone and fractured/bruised tailbone from the car accident. Oh well....it is what it is.

I do the same thing as well! When I have long drives in the car, same thing, I crank the music up. I also have quite an eclectic taste in music as well, from Glenn Miller, jazz and Boogie Woogie, to 50's rock n' roll, straight on through to Janis Joplin & The Doors,...up to hard core heavy metal.

Yet another way I'm an enigma.

But you're right, the loud music does help to distract from the pain. I don't think I understand why, but you're right,....the louder the better, the more I can lose myself in the music....the more it helps distract from the pain.

I do my own version of head-banging,...it's the CP version!
