Monday check in

Here it is our Monday check-in. You guys know the drill this is where we check-in & share whatever we have on our minds. I hope all of our dad's here at the forum had a great Father's day. Let us hear from everyone.

Good Morning, The dad in my house had a very good day. Children arrived with home made ice cream for all to enjoy. Muscle relaxers helped me to also enjoy the time spent with family on the patio sitting in a comfortable chair that also swivels. I had no idea I had so many recliners and chairs that swivel but I'm thankful for each one of them.

I have a telephone app't Friday to apply for Medicare (can't do it online since I'll be on hub's account). Then I'll apply for a supplement. So many choices. I'm looking forward to being finished with this. I called the main doctors I use to ask what they accept, may have to change primary but surgeons are good.

Yesterday turned out to be a really good day...we had a cook out for all the dads in the family...had a lot of fun and made some new memories :)
I have a follow up appt Wed morning from my acdf surgery back in April...xray first so hopefully things have started fusing and are headed in the right direction and hopefully I can find out more about my MRI and what the next step to getting rid of this awful leg pain is.

Hi all been a busy week Last Tuesday I had surgery and got my pump.  Wednesday  I started running a fever, (over a 101) which for them is the magic number. So Thursday I called them, and and was on an off the phone with them all day Thursday and Friday, even had to take pictures of my surgerical site and E-mail the pictures to the doctor. ( it is over a 150 miles one way to the clinic) Anyway today I had to go back up there for my follow-up appointment. They are not sure if I had an allergic reaction to the ( on-Q-pump)  catheter they had in me. ((That puts pain medication or numbing medication alone the route of the pump and cath going into my spine,  The on-Q-pump has enough medication to last about 5 days. )) or there is an infection going on.  Yesterday morning my temp was finally normal but last night it was back up to close to 101! so who knows????

 I personally think I was have an allergic reaction to the medication in it? as the area where the cath was is where it was really red, and when the Q pump ran out of medicine the redness is fading fast. But the doctor is not so sure! My incision on my back looks good but the doc is not happy with the area around the pump and going around my side. So today afer they removed the on-Q-pump he put me on antibiotics for a week, and I have to send him pictures of my belly and side on Wednesday and Friday.  I have to go back up there this Monday. I keep my fingers crossed there is no infection! The pump is working really good, and they increased the dosage just a bit today based on the number of bolus's I used this past week!

Last weekend, a few pieces of the tooth in front of my half erupted wisdom tooth on the bottom right side broke off. The half erupted wisdom tooth had been giving me problems for a while but I kept putting off going to the dentist because-- surprise surprise, Medicare and Medicaid do NOT include dental here in FL for adults, and I'm on such a fixed and limited income.

But then this second problem tooth popped up. So I have a tentative appointment for this thursday afternoon. We'll see how much it ends up costing me!
