Hey,
First of all sorry to hear that this is happening to you esp at such a young age. I had the same situation when I was 27 and a couple times since then. I had a car accident also when I was 21 and my neck and lower back pain just got progressively worse. I had been threw a lot of testing and seen many specialists, mostly I had no solution from anyone other then strong medications or surgery at a hopeful solution. Nothing guaranteed. Finally I had extreme numbness in my left leg and it was getting so bad I could hardly walk. It would wake me at night, I couldn't lay on that side or anything. I started searching myself for a solution. I couldn't take the medication it just made me want to sleep. Laying down all the time made things worse. I also had disc issues, in the end it ended up being a pinched nerve and also I have flare ups of sciatica that also causes numbness and it goes right down the back of the leg and into the lower back. I went to acupuncture. I found a great TCM doctor and he actually reversed the numbness until it was completely gone. I felt great. Then I was able to maintain this new relief by gentle stretching and yoga. Its the best thing I could pass on from my condition, I deal with it constantly. I try to avoid triggers (long car rides, sitting or standing for to long/stress/lifting/) or any other of the many things that can irritate a fragile back.
I found videos for yoga great and also an affordable option. Youtube is another place to find great videos for easy back and leg stretches. Please don't forget to take it slowly, be gentle on the body. Hot epsom salts baths are a therapy in itself! If hot baths propose no health risk for you then it could be a great relief for you.
1 tub water, 2.5 cups of epsom salts.
I hope something here helps, I just thought I would share my experience.
Best luck.
