I am a little sad :(


Hello all.

(Excuse me about my english).


I want to tell you that I am a little sad, because in the last days I have got a step back in my restoration.


My illness was improving: I had a significant lower pain and I had less dizziness, but in the last 4 days I had a flare up of my symptoms. My doctor says that it is normal in my condition, but I am a little sad and a little depressed. I think that perhaps my illness is for the rest of my life or perhaps I will have another flare up with much more pain, this would be terrible.


Please give me some advice :(

I know how you feel. I'm kinda going through a flare up of my own. All we can really do is try to keep ourselves preoccupied and do whatever seems to make the pain as less as possible.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain.

flare-ups are very scarey ... they come from nowhere and make us wonder what happened. supposed to be part of the disease process but saddening anyway. it is natural to think the flare up will never go away and it will just get worse. or the next flare up will be worse even if you do get rid of it.

hope you can find a way to dwell on something else. i read a book which suggested that you concentrate on the tip of your nose and move the focus there.

So sorry Seymour that your in a flare and we all know how disheartened you must feel after months of never ending pain and finally getting answers and some relief. Just keep in mind you have a chronic condition that yes has good periods and bad but this is just that, a temporary passing point and won't last forever.

Have you talked to your Dr or asked the Crohns forum here what things you could do to help keep the flare to a minimum? Dietary changes, eliminating certain irritating foods, addition of foods that may help?

Hoping this will be over quickly and you will be back on the road to recovery.

Hi Seymour,

I am sorry you are sad about all of the flare-ups. What has helped me cope with chronic pain and flare ups is a trained psychologist in pain management (specifically). Mine deals with chronic pain patients and helps you figure things out on a mental level, with many valuable tips for coping. The best thing I ever did was go to her.

Just a suggestion and I do not know if you have that available to you.

Sorry to hear you're having flare up's, they are scary but unfortunately do happen. It's been happening to me this last week.

I try hard not to think this is how it's going to be for the rest of my life but I understand your thinking.

I try to keep busy, hope you feel much better soon.
