Only 3 weeks to go and im feeling a lot of anxiety! Friday pre op stuff. ...next Wednesday i see the surgeon.,then i got an appointment with a neuro surgeon for a second opinion 3 days before my scheduled surgery.have this feeling deep in my stomach that i needed to do that ..im hoping i am doing the right thing....uggg ..im having more pain as the days go on...stress doesn't help the tight muscles in my traps. And the headache is worse. But im aslo having the pain in my left arm getting worse. Now my left leg and siatic is bothering me ? All this and worrying about
having everyone help me after really is running me down. I am always the strong one that everyone else leans on and now i have to depend on others. Some might not mind that ,but i do :(. Thanks for letting me vent. I feel a bit more relaxed after writing it down.

Scared,
Sometimes it helps to process the situation with others. It seems easier, for me at least, to vent here with a group of folks who are in a similar situation. You have a lot on your schedule. Good luck!

It may bother you Scared but this is one time that it's very important you let that go and take all the help for as long as you can get it. Actually its vital to your surgery being a success! The important thing above all post-op and recovery is keep your expectations low, do not over do anything, disregard every time frame they give you about
recovery and healing and work at getting better one day at a time regardless of what anyone says. Go slow, pace yourself, follow post-op instructions and know that this is something that requires months and months for your body to heal and how successful the procedure is will count on how well your recovery goes.
Almost every failed procedure we see is from someone returning to work or play too soon. Your body will tell you when to push when not to.
Good luck and I'm a stickler for second opinions.
