Hi, I wasn't real sure what category to put this...
For the past couple months I've had very severe mouth pain to I typed in "burning mouth pain" in the google search and to my surprise, Burning Mouth Syndrome is a real thing. I fit the wiki descript
ion perfectly. (Post menopause, female, anxious)
The pain is comparable to a severe tooth ache. I was biting on a wet wash cloth and holding water in my mouth today to try to kill some of the pain. It's excruciating.
Does anyone here know anything about
burning mouth syndrome?
I've read it can last months or years
I don't think I can keep my sanity that long. From what I've read, the only meds that appear to be helpful are opiates and I don't want to take meds.
I'm going to the dentist to rule out any teeth issues, but it really sounds like what's described as Burning Mouth Syndrome.
Thank you all for any help. I'm not sure where to turn. Seems this mouth thing is kinda unknown. Any tips on lessening the pain would be much appreciated..thanks.
