BackToLife - yea the MM did get me moving in good yoga positions tho it blew me out in more pain cause of the movement however I know the movement is good for me. I will try to look into the kind Diesel Tonic. Tho I obtain what I have just is given to me. I will ask my sources. I've never been to an MM store. I am severely disabled. Working on getting an electric chair to help with freedom and mobility.

MM makes me more awake and never hungry. Opposite. It effects different people different ways.

I will try to continue to use it once a week to start with for now. Ultimately, I hope to be off of all pain meds by next year, as my doctor believes I will have full recovery by then.

Thanks for the inspiration.

And yea, it is an HERB. A plant. It should be legal everywhere! Alcohol is a much more lethal yet available and legal. Ridiculous.

How does your Mom make the MM tincture. I live in NM where it's legal and make a ligament by soaking the stems and leaves in isopropyl, rubbing, alcohol for 3 days and then straining it. It works as well as diclofenac topical gel and it's mostly natural. Please let us know . . . Q

I think I'll make up a batch tonight and give it a try. The rubbing alcohol is workable but I want to try the vodka as it would evaporate slower . I let you know the results.
It is good to see more states adopting the MM statutes as so little harm has really come from it. The former governor of NM, Gary Johnson, once said when asked if he had ever inhaled marijuana, he answered," I don't think I've exhaled". He is now a prominent proponent for the end to the war on drugs and he was a Republican too! . . . Q

DianeB, I don't use MM. It's not legal in my state. Law Enforcement in some states use blood test for the presence of marijuana as well as other drugs, prescription and other wise. It is illegal to drive impaired in any state. Evidence that a drug has been ingested, is usually enough proof. They combine that with the persons behavior and their coordination to determine if they are driving or doing anything else they should not be doing under the influence. They also use blood tests in some cases with alcohol.

This is a very helpful thread, thank you! It is legal for medical use here and I plan on getting a MM evaluation done soon. Opiates will relieve my pain but cause serious problems with my IBD. Also, I drive all day (for work) and am not going to drive compromised. I think it might be very helpful at night since that is when the pain is the worst.

There are many, many dispensaries out here and I can't tell where is a good place to go. I have heard that some do evaluations by Skype which might not be legal. So I probably am going to have to go out of my area to find a place that has a good reputation for adhering to the laws.

I'll report back on whether it helps my sciatica.

For what it's worth,I had to sign about 5 sheets in my pain contract that released the Doctor of all Liability if I were to get a DUI for the Medicine she prescribes.

I also signed something saying I wouldn't consume alcohol while taking the meds,which is ok because I don't drink.

How much herb does your Mom put in the coconut mixture.

Can you list a recipe like,for example:

???? grams of herb
???? grams or ozs coconut oil
???? grams or ozs butter

Dixie,just my opinion,but I don't think you'll get the same relief from Butrans that you did from Fentnyl Patches.Also the Butrans is a 7 Day Patch.When I tried it the Patch ran out after 4 1/2 days.I was in WD 10 days that month.That was my experience.It may work for others.

Rick that's about what I got from butrans as well but just felt like I was going in w/d at 4 days since I didn't see much pain relief at all with it. Also had major headaches on it.


A Reminder here : Rad could you please make an email through HW, it's safe and no spam. CPers please remember to tread lightly on this thread as we have only recently required permission from admin to discuss MM and it is a trial period meaning he monitors any thread of discussion for things that would cause Google hits to bring the wrong type of people in. Rad if you would make the email that way anymore questions on recipes can be exchanged via email and not on open forum.

It was actually my psychiatrist who first mentioned trying the MM; I talk to her a lot about my pain, since she prescribes my anti-depressants (cymbalta or lyrica, trying to figure out which one works better). I trust her a lot and since she thought it would be a good addition for me I decided to try it.

As I've said, my PM doc is okay with it as long as you're legal. That actually was a requirement for me in any PM doc that I want to see. It makes no sense to me that someone would be against me responsibly using a medically approved product which is far less dangerous than what they have to offer. Like I've said, it's a complementary therapy.

DreamSong29 - there is a site called Leafly that has listings of almost all dispensaries (I'm guessing you live in WA or CO, lol). What I did to find one was call a bunch of them and see which one sounded more strict legally on the phone, and the one that seemed professional. I did find one that is very secure, very discreet, the staff is really knowledgeable. It is $$$ but I am willing to pay for the quality assurance they go through.

Today I am going to try herb coconut oil - just topical on point of injury, back of head and spine and shoulders. I am totally out of the pain meds that work best for me (have had major challenge with pain clinics) - and I literally have no hydrocodone left, which has helped the best. So, today I will experiment and use the MM coconut oil topically and see how that works. Ingesting it the otherday made me do more movement than I was ready for. So I will just try it topically today.

Yes. And I was told by a doctor that the reason he doesnot Like to prescribe MM is because the effects are so different in every person, unpredictable. However... I find the same with different kinds of prescribed pain meds too. Like, oxycodone does not work for me and I get an uncomfortable feeling in my blood system from using it, but hydrocodone works well and clear.

It is amazing there are so many different kinds of MM. It boggles my mind. My mom gets it from a grower friend - and we do not actually know what kind it is...

I will report back later about the effects of rubbing the MM coconut oil on topically. I have not gotten the energy yet to do it. Takes me a while to get up and do anything when in heavy pain...

I used about two tablespoons of MM coconut oil on the back of my head and neck (topically on skin). It started to work almost immediately, and has lifted the heaviness of pain a great deal... Altho I still feel the pain is there. But it helps tremendously. My realization is that I should try to start doing this every day. And I would like to now put some on the rest of my spine to sacrum as soon as it feels physically possible....
