about
8 weeks ago, I sprained my foot. Since then I have had difficulty walking or sleeping because I am in such pain in the sole of my right foot. When I am sitting down or trying to sleep, I get this random and painful sensation of shock like electricity going through my leg from below my knee through to toes on my right leg. When this happens, I always cry out in pain even when I am asleep. I have been to a neurologist, and she initially thought I might ave a pinch-nerve in waist but MRI came back normal. Now she want to do a bunch of test other than the normal physical tests she did in the office, blood work being one. I have neuropathy symptoms ie: burning, sensitivity, numbness, throbbing pain. The pain is bad at night and my quality of life is zero right now!! The Dr prescribed pain medication which doesn't seem to help a all: I am taking the following nerve pain med:
Acetaminophen (TYLENOL w/CODEINE)
BACLOFEN
GABAPENTIN
AMBIEN (To help me sleep at night)
I read about
the side effects and by golly, I don't want to take any of this stuff. It interferes with my job during the day especially.
My question is, what can possibly the cause of severe foot pain, and what can I take naturally that will help with this nerve/muscle pain in my feet? Nothing is broken in my foot or ankle according to my Dr.. There is no blood cloth, no pinch-nerve issues. Dr. has ordered more test on my right foot but meanwhile I continue to suffer this excruciating pain. Of course my doctors is doing their best but any recommendation or advise I can explore and pass on to my medical team will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

The dr will probably do an EMG. That will show if there is nerve involment.

You might need an orthotic--arch support--for a while. I've had the same sensations whether on my feet or off and they can be excruciating. Consult a podiatrist is my suggestion. . . Q

Nerve neuropathy. Lyrics helps tremendously. See a neuro. I'd bet money on it. I have it. Shocks like fire, lightning, shoots right thru. Also in legs. Huggz!
