Family & Carers

Hi just wondered how many people think it would be a good idea to have a forum for the Families & Carers ?
they could vent or discuss treatments or just how they get by
I've sent an email to Admin to suggest it, but it might be good if we had some feedback to offer

I think we are in need of several new forums as does Susie and this would be a good one as well as a Womens issues forum that we have been advocating and pushing for however Peter said no not at this time since he has his hands full with the mass spammers and trying to make HW more mobile device friendly.

So good luck but I cant see him doing it at this time but maybe in the future he will consider some of them.

I agree completely Dixie as this is a very passionate subject for me and we see many many women come here with issues and leave because we dont have enough folks in one place or forum to answer the questions,offer support,or advice and that is a shame. I had a partial hysterectomy at 42 due to a placenta abruption and was thrown head first into menopause without having a clue what I was experiencing and I mean I had some really really strange issues and come to find out they were all related to this,would have been so much easier had I had someone to talk with about that since my Mom had passed away months earlier and none of my friends who were my age had any idea. I then went on HRT and that brought about different issues that I had to learn to deal with and cope again on my own.

I dont think anyone really understands the need for this kind of forum and how it doesnt fit anywhere else comfortably where there is a presence of men,that alone keeps many women from talking or asking questions as well as it isnt something men can fell comfortable with participating in the conversations and that some days the forums full of nothing but and that leaves all the guys where on those days?

I can only hope with enough feedback and encouragement Peter will give this some more serious thoughts when he gets through this spam business and the mobile app. We have several forums that have little to no traffic,no regular members or even a Mod. Posts there appear once a month maybe twice and I believe this is far more important just by looking at how many members here are women and how many go through womens issues at times of their lives,meaning we all will eventually go through menopause and how many young people may we be able to help with starting menses,STD's,common women's infections and maladies such as yeast infections? Not even targeting those with diseases and illnesses like you and BTL endure.

Keep hoping and keep advocating and maybe we will get there!

Ladies, Vickie & I both tried very hard to get the this done. I did not ask for a separate forum, I asked that the Womens Issues be added to Breast Cancer forum. My experience with new forums being added, it just does not happen very often, this is why I asked to share a forum. His reply was he was not going to be adding any new forums for quite some time as he is trying to update the site for mobile devices. He just last week had to add more space to HW. There has been loads of spammers on top of all of the usual. All we can do is keep asking. I do suggest that anyone interested in a particular forum to shoot him an email. If we don't let him know we are interested we don't stand a chance of getting something in the future.
