Hi Abilene!!
Thanks for remembering!! :)
I've been so absent here lately, because I am taking everyones advice and getting seriously prepared!!! I wrote a To Do list and put it on the fridge, of all things that need to be done prior to. I have slowly, one day at a time.... Been doing things like, organizing closets and winter clothes, donations to goodwill, winterizing our yard and chicken coops (well that was a chore for my hubby this year...lol he has his own list I made....hehe), cleaning kitchen cupboards etc.
I also picked up some items... Bendy straws!!!!! A rolling side table for the recliner (I picked it up from my local lions club on loan...pretty handy, because I hated to spend the money on one. I'll return it when I no longer need it), a grabber tool....lol, a shower chair (my hair is long so I know that will help me) and a Bluetooth headset....
I also started a new hobby.... Knitting!!! I figured it will help keep my hands busy and mobile (they are cramping and spastic) as well as make me feel semi productive , when I am down and out....
We just returned from our cabin trip. It was lovely and QUIET!! haha. We almost didn't know how to handle not having ANYTHING on out agenda :) made me miss my kids...lol. also gave me time to reflect and prepare. All in all I highly recommend a weekend getaway to anyone pre-op. It gave me some much needed peace and quiet. We had a beautiful little cabin up in the woods and were so far out, that we didn't even have cell phone service.... :) we had to drive into town to call and check on the kids. It was really nice to spend some time with my husband. We so rarely get out, or have any time to ourselves (other than after the kids go to bed, and we are exhausted by the day...haha). Time to reconnect and remember why we love each other....
I know it's irrational, but I can't help but think about
the possibilities of this surgery. It seems a morbid thought, but I wanted that time with him....just in case. Crazy or normal???? Lol.
I will be sure to keep everyone posted..... Hope everyone is having a pain free (as possible) day :)
Lila
