so now apparently I have arthritis in both of my hands/wrists. I'm having a hard time doing anything cause they hurt so bad. I swear I'm finally feeling better and something else starts. This stinks.

Try Ibuprofen, it has an NSAID that works very well for inflammation which is what arthritis is all about. If that doesn't work there are several anti-inflamms available with an rx.

i have been recommended this also. panadol osteo is useless. arthritis in neck. healing thoughts to you.

Naproxen might also work. It is an anti anflammatory also. It is generic for Aleve. The OTC is 220 mg and the rx is 500 mg. Ibuprofen is OTC and also rx. The OTC is 200 mg a tablet and the rx is 800 mg a tablet. Of course someone can take 4 Ibuprofen every 8 hrs or 2 Aleve every 12 hrs, if they don't have a rx. It is best to check with your dr because they can cause stomach issues for some people. I believe there are also some meds that they can interact with, so be sure and check with your pharmacist if you take the OTC. But, they do help.

I use paraffin at home which really helps with my hands/wrists. Plus-the skin feels extra smooth and smells good after :)

I can't take NSAIDs. I had gastric bypass. The arthritis is also in my ankle. It hurts to walk. My drs office is making me an spot with a rheumatologist.

Yep, I forgot about the gastric bypass surgery. I was taking tons of it knowing I should not have but I don't have BT meds with my pump. Because of having both crohns disease & ulcerative colitis I ended up with some bad bleeding issues. It worked wonderful for me but I had to stop taking it.

I hope the appt is not going to be too far off with the rheummie.

They were hoping to get the appt within the next day or two. So hopefully next week so I should have an appt.

Sometimes surgery causes a cutaneous (skin) nerve to get trapped. I've had it and it causes a lot of pain.

It can be tested to see if that is the problem and there are some treatments if that's what's causing the pain. Here's an article that explains: www.aafp.org/afp/2001/0801/p431.html

I have osteo-arth from my nose to my toes, seriously. This is caused by my Cancer anti androgen therapy. So far all my Dr. And I have found that works is opiates unfortunately. If you are allergic or have bad reactions to NSAIDS (I have Hep-C) you might be forced down that route. I know that opiates don't work as well as anti inflammatories but they do give me some relief . . . Q

I am having the exact same problem Whatx2 i an dictating all my messages because it kills my hands. The NSAIDs srent helping and my Meloxicam isnt working. The only thing that seems to help at all is heat and my TENS machine. I am dying to find a solution that doesnt involve me being tied to machines and heating pads all the tome.
