That is about
the gist of it. I have done tons of research on this. The first time I had a run in with my local cvs. The corp remedy is not to reprimand but a 25$ gift card. No good. I have even spoken with my doctors PA who as with all the " good" doctors is dismayed at this. It has been a problem for a long time and doctors wanted the AMA to try and step in but they had little science to back up the claims of the other powers that be. One of the other problems with pharmacists isn't even when your taking a sch 2 or 3 drug they even have gone so far as refusing to refill a script
for ( methotrexate and avara ) because these drugs are monitored by blood work, the pharmacy has called the doctors office and asked for the blood results and the doctor said the patient hasn't done them yet it's ok to have them continue and the pharmacy actually refuses to fill a medication that rheumatoid and lupus or other auto immunes NEED but no blood work no pills even when the doctor said it's ok. It really is silly how much power they have. I just don't understand it. I remember once a friend of a friend was refused pain meds after having a shunt in her kidney( sounded horrific ) and the doctor wouldn't even prescribe her pain meds. I was shocked. The reason was that I guess her kidney stones came from abusing drugs so they didn't want to give her anything for pain. This makes logical sense yet I was afraid if this woman is in pain and knows people who do the wrong things what if she takes something from the street and dies ! It's such a mess I know doctors are faced with medical and moral dilemmas but there has to be protocols set forth by the AMA I think. When to and when not to because soon doctors are just going to surrender. And we who have chronic not acute pain are going to suffer. In my readings I have found that any schedule 2 drug are not used in Europe for treating pain even in post op situations. My god thought. We who have these things RA lupus etc would much rather be cured than to take a pain pill but unfortunately there just is no cure. We struggle to be mothers and wives and try to live a life. Is it really that much to ask the powers that be to let me have quality of life too? Ugh so frustrated because there is no answer except as above changing the policy in which dictates the way we treated at the counter by pharmacist and techs.
Ps oh and get this I just went to pick up my husbands ambien and ... They seem to have misplaced it. I know they fixed it up with another one ASAP but how do you " loose" something's as regulated as ambien ... What's really going on. I only keep going there because it's a lot cheaper with my ins but wow they lost it.? Just poof ? I wonder if they will review the camera and see where it went.
