Valium is a safe and effective muscle relaxer because of its half life, between 60-200 hrs. Secondly, it can be started as low as 1mg and titrated up from there.
. Btw, any muscle relaxer that is true to that classification of drug will make you drowsy, so keep that in mind.
. Finally, I was a corpsman and a surgical tech in the Navy foe 11 years; I know first hand about how difficult it can be to have chronic pain and try to stay awake long enough to perform your duties.
. I did 2tours in Iraq and.suffered severe head, facial.and spinal trauma that prevents me from working as either a surgical tech, or an EMT, so just being able to earn enough money to support myself has been a challenge ever since I returned home in 2011, but I do thank God I'm alive; I just have issues with our VA system and how they treat all veterans. I have been waiting to get my jaw and fractured teeth repaired since I've been home! I've spent several thousand dollars of my own $$$ on the oral surgery and get judged by my appearance all the time. You see, I'm in my early 40's and am missing most of my teeth, so everyone assumes I must me a crack or meth head. I was even turned down by a plasma donation lab because they said that even though I had been in Iraq, I've had far too many surgical procedures for a person my age. They basically called me a person looking to donate mu plasma so that I could afford to pay for my illegal drug habits.
. In summation, I've grown tired of the entire medical system, moreover, I wish that docs didn't have to be afraid to practice quality medicine because of the DEA and government oversight.
. If you go to Canada, Tylenol with codeine is sold as.an over the counter drug, because sometimes OTC drugs just wont cut the pain.
. I van only pray that with the move towards legalized cannabis, that the money the US wasted annually on the war on drugs could be better spent elsewhere.
I apologize for the rant, but something's got to be done to help all of us PM patients and the docs who are still brave enough to realize that first doing no harm also means assistance to all of us who suffer from chronic pain.
