One correction and one update. Correction: I was actually intubated for 28 hours. (Days and nights kind if messed up) and u think stuck in ICU until I can lay flat for heart cath. Thanks so very much for your prayers!

Still waiting to be strong enough for heart cath. Still in ICU. Today they said it was a major heart attack during surgery, but prayerfully hoping the permanent damage isn't significant.

Aned............................. It is good hearing from you. I am so sorry, when you said what you did I kind of figured it had to be a cardiac event. The heart cath. will be a good thing for you when you are strong enough. They will be able to see where the damage is and fix it hopefully. I am praying that your heart muscle stays strong, that your body will heal and soon you will be on your way to recovery.

Lay back, relax and be a good patient! I am praying for you, lit a candle and asked for God to wrap his arms around you to keep you safe and take care of you.

Let us know when you can!

Prayers continue with you that the permanent damage is not significant. And that you can get back on track with your recovery sooner rather than later. Blessings on you and your family and all those taking care of you.

I'm so glad you are able to let us know what's going on because we really do care. But we will patiently wait for info if that becomes necessary.

Thank you. Today saw some progress as I was able to get out of bed for a short amount of time. Still waiting to have heart
cath and hopefully at least get moved to a regular room.
An ICU is no place to keep sick people. Swelling has
gone down enough to swallow liquids so that is a huge
relief. I want answers of course, and anxious to move on with my recovery. Oh, and a shower...I WANT A SHOWER! Thank you so much for your prayers, they are much coveted!

Hang in there aned we are all rooting for your! I can empathize with you about the shower. I had a total right knee replacement done this past December and the surgeon said no showers only sink bathes till 24hours after the staples are removed! He leaves the staples in for fourteen days after the surgery! So 15 days without a shower only sink baths! I think I can relate! ha

Please take care of yourself! I hope everything goes well for you with this heart cath! I will continue to keep you in my prayers!

Happy to hear from you. Baby steps girl, baby steps! Before you know it, you will be up and around. Get strong enough to have that heart cath. done so they can fix your plumbing! Lol
Sounds like you are probably on a liquid diet now, is the swelling going down any more?

Oh the shower thing, I know - how we miss the simple things in life. Soon enough!

aned, I was so pleased to hear you're up and around a bit. Even a little walking will help you get stronger. I hope the heart cath will show that the damage can be easily repaired. Hang in there and keep looking forward to that shower! Sending continued healing thoughts and prayers for your recovery.

Well, the cath was not the results I wanted. My heart is only functioning at about 30 percent. I was fitted with a defibrillator vest soon afterward and I will have to wear it until my heart gets stronger or I have one implanted. Still in ICU, but seriously praying to go home soon. Thanks everyone. It has been a tough day and I appreciate every prayer!

I'm relieved and concerned--how that be. Relieved to hear from you. Relieved that they have some answers and solutions. Having you up and moving in a controlled situation is good.
Concerned because this is scary stuff aned.
Everyone wants you home--but everyone wants you safe, above all things (right next to "showered", of course. LOL).
So baby steps. First things first, eh.
Gotta take the steps to ensure you're safe, above all things.

I'm so sorry that cath did not give you better news. So now you are wearing a defibrillator vest plus a neck collar! Praying you can make forward progress soon...toward a shower and home.

Aned, we will all continue to keep you in our prayers. Try not to let the news about your heart get you down. My daughters friend who is 44 years old last year had to have a defib & pacemaker put in last spring. They did both at the same time & she has done amazing. This took her by complete surprise she had no idea it was her heart, all she knew was she was feeling run down.

When this thread gets to the end of the 3rd page I will make a continuing thread for you to keep this one going. Our servers are old & the admin likes for us to have a 3 page limit.
