Found this forum by chance am undiagnosed at the moment but in intense pain 95% of the time. So far have been tested for Sjorgrens, diabetes, degenerative disc and about to get test for fybromyalgia. So apologies if I'm in the wrong section but I'm struggling daily and need a place to offload.

Welcome to the forum, Mick.

So sorry you are in pain. At least you are doing the right thing in getting tested and trying to find out what's going on.

If you put some keywords into the search box at the top of the page you may find some archived threads that will help you figure out what's going on.

Thanks for the welcome. I have many symptoms which I'm planning to make a diary with. I'll try the keywords as suggested. My illness has gone on for some years now and progressively getting worse. My doctor great but won't suggest anything but acts quickly if I ask for certain tests. I'm on Naproxen,Gabapentin and Morphine but they only touch the surface. Going to bed now but will be back tomorrow to have a proper search.

I take Morphine also Mick.I'm in Pain Management.

I take MSContin 30 mg x 2 and Morphine Sulphate 15 mg x 4.I take Zanaflex for muscular pain.

I don't have any nerve pain (Thank God) to amount to much so I don't take the Gabapentin.

Hope everyone has a relaxing low-pain day.

Hi Mick the hat, welcome to the forum. Regardless of your diagnosis, if you have chronic pain, this is the place to be! The details don't matter here, we focus on the common result. Pain. Besides, "double dipping" isn't just tolerated here, it's encouraged! So, even when you get a diagnosis, you can still post here as well as a more focused forum! I come here and the depression forum too.

Welcome, welcome, welcome! It's unfortunate, the pain that puts us in the same boat, but what an awesome crew we have.

I'm sorry for the pain you've been having to endute and I hope they can give it a name soon. I know I was feeling kinda nutso and started wondering if others were thinking I was making the whole deal up (yes, I know I can't make people believe me but boy, I wanted some professional to put a name to it and a test that validated it!). The test and diagnosis helped me emotionally...and physically it provided a framework for treating it.

I'm going to hope those things happen for you as well....and soon so you can get some relief.
And no matter the diagnosis, you're welcomed here! :-)

Well so far it's double carpal tunnel, osteoarthritis in middle back and dehydrated discs in lower back. The pain moves about a lot and every so often I'm pain free. Trouble is I then do too much and end up in the poo. I've been a club biker for years and also loved a tidy drink and now I'm having to sell my pride and joy and can't drink because of the Gabapentin. It's hard feeling like you're losing your life bit by bit although it has made me more sympathetic towards others who are in pain. All I want is a diagnosis. The other two things that are constantly on my shoulders is that my sister has bone cancer and my mum died of motor neurone disease. My wife is a beautiful person and great mum but she is having to soak up all this and it makes me mad as hell.

Today I have bad sciatica and am extremely tired. The jobs are piling up and all I can do is watch.

Hi, Mick. Sorry the sciatica is causing pain today. Its hard to not be able to do a lot. When my pain worsened I was finishing my rn nursing degree and had recently gotten married. I've got 2 kids, as well. As a result of my health issues I've had to give a lot up. My Dr (and a few others) told me that I can't be a nurse. My joints can't withstand the pressures from everyday activities. In fact, my Dr has me not working at all right now. I got a divorce. My ex had a hard time with all of my health issues. I'm still a very involved mom but I just can't do some things now.

For me, losing parts of my life has been hard. Its terrible that on top of the pain and Dr nonsense we also have to face big life changes. I try to do as much as possible but it is easy to overdo.

I'm wondering if all this is down to statins. Never been happy about them and this is the third lot I've been on

Hello & welcome to the forum. The issues you have listed above like the osteoarthritis & discs drying out would not be caused by statins, its part of the natural aging process. Generally carpal tunnel is caused by repetitive use of the hands or sometimes trauma with the nerve.

Some statins can cause an increase in joint pain & usually this is listed on the info sheet from the pharmacy. If you feel your joint pain has increased so being put on one perhaps you need to let your dr know so he can switch you to something different.

No lol I know that, I'm talking about joint pain, general weakness, shortness of breath, brain fog, intense pain in my lumbar region and when I wake up I feel bruised by my mattress and duvet.
