Hi mimi. When is the last time you were properly fitted for a bra? As our bodies change, so must our bra size AND type. Wider straps help hold up what must obey gravity! Subtle changes in fat distribution can make our 'stand by' size uncomfortable. Also, manufacturing is changing what qualifies for sizing!
When I was in HS (mid to late 70's) I was considered a size 5 in clothing, 4'11" and 82 lbs. In my 20's I was considered a size 3. After 2 children, and in my 30's, 5 lbs heavier, somehow I became a size 0/1! Now in my 50's and 94 lbs, I have to shop in the childrens section and buy girls size 14/16! Imagine what it's been like bra shopping!
Now, with the changes/deformities of my right shoulder, the only bras I can use are criss cross strapped as the regular ones slide right off the shoulder!
To get a truly good fit, don't rely on 'Victoria's Secret', go to a place that specializes in mastectomy bras. They understand the changes we go through! Hopefully, that is all you need!
