Hi Char. I have intermittant problems with blepharitis - now far less frequent than it was thanks to the nightly routine my ophthalmologist got me onto. Before that I'd end up with one or both eyelids so sore, crusted and swollen I'd have a hard time seeing.
I use a hot compress (clean washcloth, soaked in hot water and wrung out) over my eyes for 5 mins, then wash with an eyelid cleanser - the one he suggested I use is called Steri-Lid. I use good quality artificial tears/lubricant during the day as I need (the single use ones, so there's no risk of an open bottle becoming contaminated) and a heavier lubricant like Lacrilube at night if my eyes are really painful and gritty.
