Hi BunnyGirl, everything Straydog told you is true, unfortunately they ( allot of PM's) are not necessarily looking at the cause of the pain and the long term prospects of it, but they seem more concerned about the use of pain medications to treat it and especially when the patient is of a younger age. It might not seem fair, but it appears that is just the nature of the beast right now, with the climate of anti pain medications being dominate! Right or wrong it is what it is, so my advice to you is don't play the mind games on yourself of ""what if" this will just make things worse for you and increase your anxiety! What will be will be, and you can deal with it as it comes. Not saying you should not prepare yourself for it, but presently it seems that you just have to play ""their game"" as it appears that is the only one you have, at least right now.
I see you have or have had a spinal stimulator, is that not working for you? Also would you possibly be a viable candidate for an implanted pain pump? Just a thought, as it works great for allot of people including myself. Might be worth checking into???
Your really young to have all these spinal problems, so I really sympathize and also empathize with you ( mine started in my early mid thirties too) I wish I could say something that would be of more help to you. But do know we are all here for you! For now try and be more optimistic about your PM's treatment plans, (who knows they just might work???) and if they don't well...........you can cross that bridge when you come to it, just don't try to anticipate your future, now! That will definitely get you into trouble!
I wish you well BunnyGirl!
