Forever labeled wrongly by Doctor

I live in the U.S. so don't have any information, unfortunately, to help with your system in the UK. I do want to welcome you to the forum, and maybe suggest you start your own thread asking if anyone is from the UK who's battling doctors - or something to that effect. Mention UK in the thread title. You might also search the old threads for anyone who might be from your country.

The outcome in NIZZAN's case is, sadly, not the outcome for most of us. It really isn't all that easy to go up against doctors here, either. It takes enormous energy, knowing the system, and in some cases money for an attorney which I also don't have (barely have money to live). So don't feel you're so alone. I think as you read more other threads you'll find that out!

i debated about starting another thread for this comment, but decided to keep the coherence of the thread alive.  i have the opposite problem of everyone who posts in this forum:  my cp doc gives me enough opiod medication for all of us here to become wealthy selling it on the street (this last comment is sarcasm).  the last time i saw him was two months ago.  i had chest pains and his staff directerd me to the adjacent hospital where i spent two days for heart tests.  they discovered, just as i told them, that it was my chronic bronchitis becoming acute again.  since then, i have been too ill to go very far for very long and haven't been back for a med-check and new rxs for two months.  i have barely scratched the surface of the percocet he's over-prescribed or of the morphine he's over-prescribed.  i DID have to fall back to an old rx from my gp in texas for gabapentin after a month and a half.

i phoned the cp doc last week to make an apt and got cut off by his office staff.  i believe they have standing orders not to accept calls from any patient who has failed to report in for more than a month.  i can go at least another two months with the meds i still have and by refilling the rx from texas.  i shudder to think, however, of how i might be labeled.  drug seeker?  drug pusher?  massocist?

i may have to find another cp doc.   the next closest one is over 30 miles away in another city and i'd really be stretching it to drive that far.

drs can really put the hurt to their patients, as this thread illistrates.  gramps has sworn to let the world know about it in court.  nizzan and PA lady?  i don't know.

Just a quick update. My wife and I met again with the Hospital Admins. We presented several letters written by the Nursing staff that clearly supports my position and clearly establishes that I am not a drug seeker. From 1990-2008 I was hospitalized many many times and no one ever even hinted that I was a drug seeker, substance abuser or potential substance abuser. The only remark is this one written by a very young, inexperienced and immature PA.

Well, the meeting ended the same way as the others; they will NOT change or remove the opinion of a clinician in anyone's medical record.

i had a bad doc and found out by hard way that the lawyers are worse than the doctors. i even showed receits for what part i had to pay for fixing his mistake, plus ins prems during time i should have been back to work. i showed $10000 of costs just medical and still got turned away by 9 lawyers. all but 1 told me strait up that the doc did me wrong but not worth suing him because nobody could get enough money out of it. i said to 1 what abt my pain and suffering and he said i have pain and suffering even if it went right so nobodys gonna pay for it eithr.

i did a complaint to the med licensing board instead and it "pending investigation" for 2 yrs now.

I have been treated the same way (as a junkie) as well. I don't really understand it, because I have only always followed my neurologist, GP, and neuro opthomalogist. I have low spinal fluid now which was confirmed by my neurologist who was in charge of all the others. This after having high pressure for years to the point where I lost some of my eyesight due to swollen optic nerves..
The shunt surgery was supposed to fix it permanently but it overdrawing me by a lot. I had to fight to get it taken out. After a report from Johns Hopkins they themselves decided to take it out..the famous hospital said I would die from it if not taken out. The low pressure after never went back to normal or high. They tried everything, and I mean everything to the extent of having Botox shots in my head all around the painful areas. My GP has me on a strong pain med, it was still too much pain and I couldn't stop vomiting, therefore I couldn't take the meds. The local emergency room Dr on call said first thing..."you are not getting narcotics", I told her I just needed hydration and anti nausea meds, I showed her my full bottle of pain meds that I could not keep down, but I brought with me because I know what it can be like. She repeated herself, and I repeated myself. She then said if I treat you at all, you need scans and x-rays, and blood work etc. I asked if I could have fluid before that..She said NO. If I think it is necessary after tests I will order it. I left because going through hours of testing and scans without help for dehydration and nausea were just not an option. Therefore she labeled me too... I did call my Dr who said to put the tablets up my rear if I couldn't keep them down. Is this what we are reduced to because of other people's addictions and stupidity??? I never want to be ill again, but that is a pipe dream. This has to stop, but I don't know how to even attempt it
My overall condition is called Intracranial Hypertension, though the surgery I had reversed the issue to make it chronically too low which is also constant pain...
I have plenty of stories on the surgery, however the main issue is the way people with chronic pain causing illnesses are being treated and documented.
I am at a total loss other than pressing charges with the Board Of Health and the hospital.
