Should I tell my doctor via email that I was in a car accident?

Hi,
Yesterday while driving with someone I was hit and the impact was on my side. At the time of impact I felt an increase of pain. Today I am very sore and the pain has increased. I take Oxycodone throughout the day. I love my doctor he is great. I am struggling with - should I tell my doctor (via online) and how should I tell him? The major thing is I don't want him to think that I am asking for an increase of pain medications. Should I say nothing at all or just say something like.....

I just wanted to let you know that yesterday I was in a car accident, I was the passenger as I was with my DMH worker navigating through a parking lot. Very shortly after the time of impact my pain got worse. My pain has increased due to the accident but I was not seriously injured. I will rest and use ice on my back and other locations. The medications are reducing the pain to a tolerable level.

Unless you feel that your treatment needs to be altered due to the accident, I would just mention it at your next appointment.
