Shaw, hey I looked to see if your email was on and it wasn't so email me and I will send you the name and website of the doc I saw in Tampa. It will take you approximately 2 hours to get there depending on where in Orlando you are going to be. Plus I will give you the name of a website where you put in the city and state where you live and it will give you a list of accredited pain docs. This is how I found mine.
It wouldn't hurt for you to ask your doc for a referral in case he knows of one. Then once you do get some names, I would call to see if they are taking new patients, to see if they need a referral (my first pain doc needed a referral from another doctor), and to find out what they will need i.e. records.
Before I moved, I made my appointment with the new doc ahead of time so I could let my current pain doc know how long I would need him to cover my meds. My current place faxed my new doc the records and when I went to the new appointment I filled out their paperwork and was good to go. I would think most of the docs will take into consideration what you have been on when making their decisions. My new doc kept me on the same meds.
I know it's scary and if you can get it all in place before you move, you'll feel much better. Email me and I'll get you those names.
Melissa
