Okay, so I was starting to get better, had more good days than bad. Well for the last 7-8 days the pain in my neck and head have been bad and non stop. I just can't take it anymore. Just when I thought I was getting better, it seems I am worse.
Last I saw my primary care doctor, I was better and so she said she would see me in 6 months for a check up. The neurosurgeon I saw basically told me to forget about the pain and start exercising. Is it time for a second opinion? Perhaps a DO? I have seen a Pain Management doctor, and have tried several injections and procedures with him, to no avail, so I don't think that is an option.
I know time is what I need to heal, but it has been 11 months and I feel that has been plenty of time to heal. All we know is I have whiplash, mild DDD, mild spondylosis with a tiny bonespur (neuro said that is not what is causing my pain) and the loss of my cervical curve. Other than that, my MRI (from April) did not show anything out of the ordinary. My primary doc basically said my nerve endings are exaggerating and I am feeling more pain than I should be, so she put me on Tramadol. I don't feel that is even doing anything.
I wore a cervical collar for three weeks and it helped out tremendously, cutting my pain and frequency of pain in half. Lately though I wear it at night, and I wake up feeling worse, so I only wear it during the day sometimes. Between that and the , I am still having horrible pain. I am starting to get depressed again.
What should I do?
Also, is anyone taking Tramadol or Ultram? I actually take the Ultram, which I think is the same thing. Anywhoo, do you take it with any other pain meds, narcotics in particular? I ask because I am about to ask for some for the days I can't handle the pain.
