Are You Supposed to Feel Some Type of Withdrawl When Tapering?

Hi Everyone:

Someone mentioned no withdrawls should be felt when tapering...I thought otherwise.  I was expecting some discomfort, actually quite a bit for the first few days, but as the opiate started lessoning in my system, less withdrawls.  Am I wrong on this?

I tapered off 150 mg of Oxycontin. It depends on the opiate and how big a cut you make in the dosage as to whether or not you will feel withdrawal symptoms. What are you taking and how are you doing a taper?
When I did mine, I cut the dosage too big the first taper and had some mild withdrawal symptoms. After that I reduced my dose by 5 mg every three days, so I had no withdrawal symptoms to speak of.
