Hi Gramps,
Great insight on the lidocain. I do use a heating pad 90% of the day, and always have the lidocain patch as well. This might definatly be the problem I have been feeling as of latley. I know that in the past I have had 3 lidocain infusions at the Beth Isreal Pain Mngmt in Boston. they usually take in the nieborhood of 4 hours to finish the IV bag. Then I use them aprox 20 hours daily.(my pain mngmt doctor gave me a green light on aprox 20 hours per day) I know about the 12 on and 12 off, but he gave me the ok so I have been sticking with it. After the 4 hour infusions I would not feel so great for the remainder of the day so I would just relax.
I read you are off to get some things done for you, hope the anxiety and waiting is worth it.(somtimes it is, somtimes it isnt) It seems like we have to wait so long for these appts that you cant but help getting a little exited at the possibility someone will do something positive for you.
Anyway I stopped with the heating pad when the patches are on, and hope to talk to you soon and maybe you can brighten us up whith some positive and encouraging news.
Best of luck Gramps, talk to you soon
mike
