Missed your wisdom while you were away. 

I hope your trip was enlightening for you and you found all of the answers you wanted.  Let us know how it went when you feel up to it.

Ah Gramps, I was so disappointed to read that your trip to the Mayo was all for naught. I, like so many others here at HW were hoping you would get some answers and help. What a disappointment I know it is for you. Do, they really think people can afford to to fly back and forth to their facilities at a drop of the hat, or just jump in a car and drive the distance, that really blows me away. Everyone I know thats been there had a complete workup before they left and they did not have return visits scheduled to finish a workup. WOW.

It has been quiet at HW since you left and you have been missed. You do offer great advice to many and you are always so helpful. As Bonnie said, we sure do seem to have a rash of peeps getting off their meds, some going cold turkey, which is just crazy in my book. Why subject yourself to more pain if there are other ways to do it, is beyond me.

I am like you like, this will be my life, but thats ok, because of my pump, I am able to function now, its a different level, but that ok too.

You must not give up hope, there has to be someone, somewhere out there that can help you. I sure will keep you in my prayers that help is not far off for you...Lotgs of gentle hugs coming your way....Susie

Glad to see your back even if somewhat.

I too am sorry to hear that you experience at the Mayo leaves much to be desired.

You'd think that somewhere out there someone would be able help

I also agree with Susie they way the expect you to travel back and forth is unacceptable.

Do these doctors ever stop and think about people who live in the real world?

A physician I have chatted with online told me something that actually made sense. He said he more people weighing in on your case, if you are a chronic pain patient, the worse! This is an example of the distortion of Medicine. Usually, in most chronic illnesses, the more brains on the case the better.

Unfortunately when it comes to Pain Management, the less doctors involved, the better.

In pain cases, the more people involved, the more likely pig ignorant police propaganda and good 'ole plain public ignorance will sway the day.

I wasn't sure I agreed with him at first but the more I think about it and the more people I see suffer the more I realize how true his statement is.

Sorry to here about your experience over at Mayo. I know you had been hoping they would be able to do something better for you. Hopefully things will turn for the better in future. Its really too bad that did not work out.

I hope you arent feeling too bad, good luck and have a safe trip home.

It's such a shame that spent so much time, money and energy for nothing. And these folks get by on their reputation, not their individual treatment. Sounds like they need to start treating patients, not building a bogus reputation.

sorry, I just couldnt help myself, anyway like everyone here, I feel for you for having to go thru a agonizing time. When looking forward to something so important and the feeling of just another letdown along with some agrevating ignorance becomes so old, so fast, so long ago.

 In other news, I just had my first visit to the Dellon Institute and had some positive results.If I recieve the same type of relief the next time I'm injected, she will consider a operation to cut the trunk of the nerve and stuff it into the muscle and who knows, it might defuse the whole problem. Dr. Virginia Hung could'nt have been more inteligent or understanding it was a comfort from the usuall hurry up we have 20 more people behind you waiting.

One more thing,

          I could'nt agree with straydog and yourself about the magnatude it is, just to be able to cook my 2 kids a dinner without them telling me "dad its okay take a break or we just can have cereal tonight" because of the apropriate meds, working like there supposed to be working, I can actually help do the things that are neede to help run our family. At least I know, no matter what, I will have somthing that will calm my nerve damage down, It is temporary, but I'll take it anyway...............
