I don't think I pitch a PCP when he says he knows I am not drug seeker. Because thats exactly what so many drs today think, including PCP drs. Your treatment at ER is how nearly everyone is treated in ER if they go in with pain, unfortunate but true. Ask him to ref you to a pain mgt dr, its not going to hurt his feelings. If this doc has been good for you in other ways, I would just say to him, what you do think about referring me to one and see what they think. This is a typical visit to ER for pain. My son was 30 yrsd old, he has had migraines since he was 8 with projectile vomitting & horrendous pain. His wife called says go with me to take him to ER, I said sure. We get there and nurse from hell thinks he's a drug seeker and faking it. WHen his projectile vomitting hit her mid way up, she changed her mind, he got a shot of phenergren & demerol. If he had not puked on her he would have got nothing. Susie
