Hi Gramps,
Boy, did the Mayo Clinic ever miss their mark about RSD. It most certainly can move around and affect other areas of the body. Its funny I was looking up something about rsd and found a site that was very informative. If I can ever find the site again I will post here. That way if you go back to the Mayo you can copy it and tell them to shove it, or better yet tell them to get educated about rsd.
I don't know if you ever said in any of your posts but you think you may be infected with Marsa. How do you think you got it? I was just curious cause I couldn't remeber.
I got some rather shocking news tonite myself. The FDA has made a recall on pre-filled syringes of of Heparin & Saline Solution from a company in N.C. It showed to be tainted with a bacteria called "Serratia Marcecens" which causes terrible infections.
When I was in the hosspital for 8 days almost 2 months ago for cellulitis I received IV vancomycin which is a strong antibiotic. After being released from the hospital, I had to use to balls of vanc a day, I have a port a cath in my chest from doing Remicade for my crohns. Anyway, they rigged me all up to do the vanc at home. Guess who's Lot numbers on her pre-filled Heparin matched and from that company. I am trying now to find out if the Vanc will have covered that particular bacteria or not. If so great. If not, not so great, I have ran a low grade fever ever since being released from the hospital and I now have a nasty upper resp. infection. The upper resp. infection can be caused by this bacteria, and it also hits the kidneys and urinary tract and I am having some kidney issues, that cropped up while in the hospital. So, I am a little nervous tonite. I have COPD and on oxygen as well. This bacteria hits alot of other ares in the body, from the eyes to the brain, its bad. I guess I will call my pulmonary dr this morning. Have a good day, Susie
