You aren't alone.  I was at Walgreens today picking up my Rx for the generic Oxycontin and was told by the pharmacist that the manufacturer of the formulary took the generic manufacturers to court in an attempt to stop them from making the generic, and they not only won, but were able to extend their control for a few more years.  My co-pay will now go from $6/month to $600/month. 

I was told that there are still some pharmacies that have supplies, and the manufacturers. do have a little bit of time and stock left to ship out, but when they are gone, there will  be no more.  Check with your local Walgreens or CVS in your area, they will tell you over the phone if they have it in stock, and get it filled locally until they run out.   In the meantime, I'm going to do some research on the internet and see what else I can find.

I don't know if this will help...but, if you put in free RX Card into search engine you will get a bunch of websites that will let you print out a card that will help you save as much as 50% off your meds...no matter if you have insurance or not.

I have TennCare and it only covers 40 of the 120 Oxycodone I get a month....that card I use knocks the price down from 170.00 to about 66.00, that's a pretty big savings....and most pharmacies will take it.

free RX card is all u need to put in....good luck.

I just found out about the problem getting my oxycodone. I don't know what I am going to do. Several of you said you will have a co-pay for the brand name. My insurance won't pay for brand names during the gap. What insurance companies do you have? Mzmarty

Hi, By the way I am new to the web site. Does anyone read page 2? I just wrote a question on top of this one. It's still me. Mzmarty. Is there any insurance company that I can go to that pays brand name during the gap?????? Please reply.. M.

Sorry, but this is VERY old thread.  Perhaps you should post a new thread and you will receive replies.  Most of the older threads are found by new members who do not realize they are out of date.  A moderator may be along soon to give you more data, but I would seriously consider the new thread for info.

I wish I could find name brand as cheap as all of you. I have been on oxycontin and oxycodone going on 3 years. Due to a doctor messing me up during my last back surgery. he cut my illiac vein which has caused an 8 inch blood clot in my upper thigh and other severe issues. # failed attempts at opening the vein for a doctor at OHSU, he stated the other doctor had sewn the vein closed :( now I have been diagnosed with Severe Chronic DVT which as some of you probably know is very very painful to say the least. I went to get my monthly prescriptions filled last Thursday to find out that the one for oxycontin was 400.00 by it self and that is with BCBS insurance!! how can this companies get away with this.?? we are the ones in pain and we get to pay the high costs because of drug addicts in the world!! there is something wrong with this picture.

Hello DVTWoman and welcome to Healing Well's chronic pain forum. I am very glad that you have found the forum but so sorry to hear of your suffering.

Since you have posted on a very old thread here, I am going to ask you to please make a new post here at the forum introducing yourself. That way it gives all of the members a chance to pop on and give you a proper hello and welcome aboard. Otherwise, I am afraid many will ignore this old thread and you will go unnoticed.

If you will look at the top of this page to the left you will see Post New Topic, click there and you will be on your way to starting a new thread. This forum is pretty user friendly so I doubt you will have any problems.
