Had epidural on Friday and pain so much worse. Is this normal?

I had an epidural on friday morning on the c4 c5.  I was ok the rest of that day just a touch sore.  Starting saturday I started feeling horrible. The pain in my back was 10 times worse and i couldnt hardly move.  Today it is still hurting that bad and it seems to be moving farther up m back as well.  Is this normal?

call 911 IMMEDIATELY.  you are discribing one of the possible very negative outcomes of an epidural (you mean the dr never told you about this?  hmmmmmmmm).  in the worst case scenario, you are losing cerebrial spinal fluid and c ould die or become a quadraplegic.  makes for a good malpractice case, but i'd really rather be healthy.

get a dr to have a look at the injection site for  fluid leakage and have bloodwork done to check for infection.  NO, WHAT YOU ARE EXPERIENCEING IS NOT NORMAL.  it is potentially life-threatening.

like the cable guy says, "get 'er done!"  NOW.

went to dr. he said i have s[inal headache.  Ordered me to lay flat for 2 days and see if it went away.  I am suposse to call him thursda and let him know if fever and headache are gone.  If not he said I would have to have another spinal injection to get rid of the headache.  As of right now it is not any better.  My fever has been as high as 102.8  and the headache is not better, neither is the pain in my back.  Just wanted to give you guys an update and thank you sp much 

SheilaJ: Re your spinal headache: after my 1st surgery,I develped a post-surgical spinal fluid leak & endured 3 weeks of spinal headaches (the worst on earth, like acid pouring over your brain, as you know...) + a fever & constant nausea...doc gave me blood patch, no help, then let it go ANOTHER WEEK b4 doing the 2nd surgery to close the dural leak inside, which turned out to be quite large.....
Because of the damage that second surgery did, I had my fusion 2 months ago & well......

Just be careful & proactive! And re the epidural shot: when doc went in for my fusion, he found 3 encapsulated "pods" of the corticosteroid my PM had injected into the epidural space to "quiet down" the nerve pain --- my body did not dispurse the injection materials, only formed capsules around the steroids & those, too, were pushing on my sacral nerves, along w/ the shot disc....

And infection is a concern as well---if you are leaking spinal fluid, there is a hole in there somewhere & could be a direct "port" for infection (menigitis) to travel to your brain...

Not to scare you, just speaking from experience. Don't wait much longer---go to the ER if you must, esp if your fever keeps going up.
