JoBobB, I don't have a SCS but I have talked to a lot of people who have them. So from them and doing my own research on it I have learned a lot. Are you considering one?

my doc thinks i should try but i'm not so sure. it sound a bit like sticking a finger in the lite socket lol

Very well said Gramps, but JoBob I think you owe it to yourself to at least try it like Lassie did to put all your curiousities and what ifs to rest. If the trial is successful great you found something that will help you. If it doesn't than at least you tried and don't have to play the what if... and maybe... game. I think you should research them more in depth and talk to people who have gone through the trial and/or have a permanent one. I've talked to many and they all say that although its not perfect and they have had issues with it that any pain reduction is better than no pain reduction and that they wouldn't trade it for anything. Anyway a site to learn more about SCS implants is www.controlyourpain.com and a site to talk to people who have/had the trial/permanent implants is www.raceagainstpain.com. Hope this all helps!

I agree about the concern re: lassie, Gramps. Please let us know if you hear from her.

I'm pretty sure she would have let us know if things went well, but I hope i'm wrong.

Lassie - if you're reading - we want to know how you're doing, and help you through whatever is happening as much as we can!

about Lassie, me too. I started that thread and no reply. If anyone has a number for her, pls cal and let us know how she is. I'm very very concerned for her.

Have you let a moderator or the admin. know the identity of this person so they can be stopped? I'm guessing you probably took this action.

How can you possibly beat yourself up for not catching it earlier with all you've been going through? Cut yourself some slack!!

Yes, Gramps, cut yourself some slack. I value the information and self experiences you have shared with me. And I have never felt pressured by you in my decision making one way or the other. It is sad for a person such as you mentioned to take advantage of the vulnerability of a CPP.

I hope you are having a tolerable day - even better!

OMG Gramps!! I know exactly who you are talking about and now I feel so stupid for not having had more insight into what I was reading! And yes, as soon as I was positive about my dissatisfication with the trial and definitely decided the permanent implant was not for me, he/she did not respond to this thread concernaing me anymore. I noticed she (I also assume a she) tried to pull someone else under her wing.

This is just unacceptable. I'm glad I didn't let her influence my decision. What can be done to preven t this from happening to someone else?

Thanks for your "watchful eye". Please don't feel bad for not seeing it sooner.

How true Gramps! You know, somehow I feel violated. I depend on this forum so much for information, suggestions, compassion, and just plain caring about others and our struggle with CP. I'll have to keep my guard up a little closer; something I thought I would never have to do here. I do have faith that I have met some genuine friends here though. So I guess I shouldn't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. tickle, tickle

Ditto to Gramps' post. Think about it this way - you didn't get swayed by anyone. If you were truly swayed it could just as easily have been in a negative direction. You read all the information, and made your own decision. Ultimately, we all have to think about what information we're using to make such important treatment decisions. And now you know many of us on this forum, so if someone's post feels "odd" you can just trust yourself and ask about it.

Just don't want you to be discouraged from keeping in touch with us!!

Nah PALady, this new found "family" means too much to me to lose contact. Most everyone has been so supportive I can't really remember what I was like before I met you guys, except I was very lonely.
