Lassieluv & whoever noticed I've been gone

      Hi to everyone I have'nt talked to for awhile and Lassisluv in particular. I'm not mad or upset with you or anyone I've just been very sick for the last few weeks and even more so this past week.

So I felt an update might be the right thing for now. My stomach has been acting up for the last couple of months and it has gotten worse this past week. I've had bloodword galore an ultra-sound and last week I had and endoscopy, which I would like to say was pure hell. It's not like I have'nt had one before, I have and it went smoothly. I was under before they started and woke up well after they had finished feeling fine except for a bit of a sore throat which was gone within a couple of hours. However this time no such luck, after reading my form they had me fill out before the procedure they noticed all the pain meds I was on and did'nt think I would need as much meds for the test. They were wrong of course. After giving me the knock-out meds they started too soon (I was still very much awake!) and they put the thing in my mouth to pass the tube through wrong. It was hurting me so bad because of the angle they had inserted it but I could'nt talk and they just kept saying it's ok don't fight it as both nurses restrained me by holding me down. Eventually they gave me more meds but not before I was throwing up and fighting tooth and nail to try and tell them the problem. Next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery.

It was awful. I still have to see my Primary Care dr. to see what happens next although the hospital gave me a report saying I had Esophigitis and something black and ugly (I got a photocopy of the results with pictures). They did a biopsy so I'm just waiting to find out what is going on now. Back pain is not enough apparently for me I get to have excrutiating pain in my upper and lower abdomen on top of it.

I already was dx. with IBS and Acid reflux years ago and have controlled it well with meds till now. So let's just say I feel like sh..t and have not felt well enough to even look on my computer till yesterday so I thought I'd just let whoever is interested know that I'm so-so but hanging in there and I'm definitely not upset with anyone.

Also I had a terrible visit with my Pain Clinic dr. the day after the test last week but I don't feel up to going into all that right now.

Yes, I have missed you! And I feared it may have been from illness, although I hoped maybe not. I am so sorry about your horrible experience with the endo. I will send lots of hugs and healing energy your way as you await more test results. This time can raise so much anxiety.

We all understand you may not be feeling well enough to write, but know we're thinking of you. I've not heard from lassie in a few days either, and she has her implant trial coming this week. So I'll be thinking of you both.

Thanks everyone it's nice to feel missed. Black and ugly was my describtion or the pictures they gave me on the printout of my procedure not medical jargon. I did'nt get a chance to talk to the dr. and so I really don't know what it was. I will be seeing my own dr. next week sometime so hopefully she will be able to give me a better description of what the black and ugly thing is. I'm sure if it was something really bad they would of made more of a big deal of it. At least I hope so.

 

So thanks again all and I'll get back on my feet or whatever soon and I'll be back on a regular basis afterall I did miss you all very much.

 

Goodluck Lassieluv with your stimulator test and kudos on the stop smoking try and keep it up. I will be right behind you on the stop smoking thing for my own reasons so wish me luck when the time comes. (Of course I just bought 2 cartons of cigs before I decided with the help of my dr. that it is time to start looking out for my health on my end as well)

Hi Toritoo - I hope you are feeling better today. I had an endoscopy once and I agree, it was pure hell. The meds they gave did not even come close to knocking me out; the Versed just doesn't work for me. I'm sorry you had to deal with that too.

Thank you for remembering about my surgery on Wednesday. I am a nervous wreck; but I'm told for no reason. I have been given a Fentanyl "lolipop" to suck during the procedure. I am already on the patches so I hope this lozenge on a stick will work.

Please don't think you said anything stupid. By all means it wasn't taken that way. How were you to know I live in NC? I was just trying to be funny. No hard feelings!

Again, I hope your throat and everything else is much better today!

I'm glad you're feeling a little better. You've been having a bad spell of late, and we all deserve at least an occasional break!

I don't know anything about Antrum and it sounds like you don't want to know anything just yet, so we'll wait for you to go to your doc on Monday and let us know when you're ready. I'm sure everyone here is rooting for it to be nothing of any consequence - certainly chronic pain is enough!
