Thanks so much for the well wishes, you don't know how much I appreciate it.

Three surgeries! Wow. I've had two on my eye, but only one was related to my present condition. I almost wish they could do another one though, if that is what it would take to fix it. Unfortunately I think all the scar tissue is in a region that is basically impossible to get to.

Warm compresses are helpful sometimes. They don't usually do much for my pain, but they at least feel comforting. The evening and night are the worst for me because the pain peaks then. I can't get seem a break, even when I sleep, since no sooner do I fall asleep (after hours and hours of laying awake because of pain), the pain wakes me up because REM sleep hurts my eye. So it is at least relaxing to get up and put a warm compress on the eye. Something about heat is soothing!

That's great that you adopt from the pound. I plan on doing that in a couple of years. There are so many animals there that need loving homes. It breaks my heart to think of what some of them have gone through. And I find that animals themselves can be some of the best medicine!

On the third eye surgery, my Doctor used stitches about 10.
This doctor took these stitches out in her office without me having anything,
about 5 minutes into the car ride home, my husband was calling this Doctor
as I was literally crying very hard in pain and doubled over . Never get stitches out without
pain medication, they hurt coming out, I moved twice while this doctor was taking
them out and almost lost my eye. I sure hope you never have to go through that.
Sure wish they had a laser treatment to help with your eye problem. Medical science
has come so far maybe someday soon they'll be able to help you better. I still have
scar tissue and mine you can see as it's on the bottom right eye lid.

Yep, nothing like adopting a pound kitty, I have two young'ens as I lost my lil Maximillion in
January he was 17 years old and I still miss him some, That'll be a hard
part of your job, putting old kitties to sleep, my Max had stopped eating and drinking
and just walked and walked without stopping, we knew it was his time.

Wish me luck today as, I'm going for my third Rhizotomy for my back.
Would be nice chatting with you, but I'll be gone for today and tomorrow.
try the chatrooms here the people are very nice, its a good outlet and helps take our minds off the pain.

I'm sorry about your cat. It's always hard to lose an animal, unfortunately I also know all to well. But at least we have the power to end their suffering, so hopefully they can be spared some of the pain that we go through.

Unfortunately I actually have had a kind of similar experience. After both of my eye surgeries the sutures in the eye had to be adjusted and tied off the following day in the office in order to get the correct alignment, since eye position under anesthesia isn't necessarily the same as when you are awake, drug free. That wasn't so much fun. And after my last surgery I popped a stick a week or so later, which burned like mad because everything rubbed against the untied ends of the suture.
