It's gettin' cold in California ~ not as cold as elsewhere, I know.
Last night I couldn't sleep. My husband kept waking up in the night.
He'd find me at the computer, the art table, the spare bed, the commode.
I'd be sound asleep.
Today I was tired and cranky. (According to him)
I crawled under the electric blanket.
I wore my winter pj's (and socks!)
I konked out for two hours.
When I woke up, I was soked in perspiration
and my whole body felt like I was ten years old.
It was the heat and the moisture, I'm sure.
I went OUT FOR dinner and shopped for my pillow.
Nice night.

I too have an electric blanket at home. I love it. It is great to cuddle under on those cold nights when nothing seems to be able to warm you up. But I do have a word of caution. It's not good to leave those blankets on all the time. One of ours "melted" after the cat accidentally turned it on (it was probably on for most of the day). We were lucky it didn't cause a fire. Also, they are not the best thing for you health wise. Exposing your body to all that electricity is okay once & a while for short periods of time, but if you use it regularly for long periods of time it can cause health problems -- especially cancer. You may know all this already, but I just want you to be aware & to be safe. That being said, I still use my electric blanket. It is very comforting.

use the electric blanket occasionally.
I tell you, anything that GOOD has just got to be bad. smilewinkgrin

I didn't mean to scare you. I just don't want anything bad to happen to you either!

I do agree that electric blankets definitely are one of the comfiest things out there :) I'm pretty much a comfort freak. My bed is pilled high with blankets and pillows. It is my safe & sacred place, and oh so comfy! I love all things comfy. Sweats are pretty much my favorite clothes, especially when I am down or in pain. I'm very sad that in a couple months I'm no longer going to be able to wear them regularly, as I am doing an internship that requires formal dress.

I sleep with an electric blanket every single night its cold. I will say that night sweats and electric blankets are not good together and can be a rather "shocking" experience!!!

I have a mattress warmer that is awesome. I put it on over the matteress and its covered with the fitted sheet. An hour or so before I go to bed I turn it to the highest setting. Right before I get in bed I turn it down. It feels so nice, no cold sheet to crawl into too. I love my mattress warmer. My dilaudid tends to cause me the sweats but I am able to tolerate this in the winter. Its 37 here right now which is very cold for us early. Need it now but too late to pull it out,lol. I wear nothing but Karen Neuburger pjs year round. I have short sets and capri length for summer & spring and I have the long pants ones for winter. If you ever purchase a pair of these you will wear no other kind of pj's totally hooked. Will not say how many pair I have, I would embarrass myself,lol. Hugs Susie

Pam, I too have a electrical blanket my hubby bought it for me last christmas . I Love it. Im cold all wintet long and it really warms me up.
